Sipalay City is located in Southern Negros Occidental province 4-5 hour away from the capital of Negros the Bacolod City. This place is known to its beautiful beaches, crystal clear water, majestic diving spots, gazillions of marine diversity, marine protected area, best tourist spot destination, affordable accommodations and many more.

Sipalay is included to my best top 5 places in Negros where you can enjoy your full vacation during summer.
I visited this place more than 60 times since the first time weave been there together with my two closest friends. There are set of fun activities where you can boosts your excitement and these are island hopping, scuba diving, snorkeling, surf boarding, kayak and there are more.

At the sea shore you can glimpse the scattered giant starfish and some poisonous urchins that might cause harm to you while you are swimming. Just like what happened to my two friends while I am at the reception area to pay and get the key for our room. They run directly to the water without knowing the risk and they suddenly step on the urchins that stings their feet.

The funny thing that the incident happened 2 minutes later after we entered to the resort. Then we ask for help at the reception if they have medicine or first aid kit that can alleviate the pain on their feet.

A moment later one of the crew gave us 3 pieces calamansi fruit and we were instructed to extract the juice then drop exactly on the infected area.

After 3 hours of swimming we decided to go back to our room near in front of the beach. Because our body is already exhausted after the 5 hours bus trip, an hour habal-habal trip plus the non-stop running and swimming.

We took the room 3,500 pesos per night good for 3 persons and additional 300/person.

The room package is bit expensive compare to other nearby resorts because the charges is based on European currency. Make sure do some research before going to the place to avoid spending too much on your first night like what happened to us.

I never thought that urchins can be eaten raw by simply getting the content inside like oysters. They mixed the content together with vinegar and salt. The process is called kilaw in Hiligaynon then the finish product is called kilawin.

The locals gathered the urchins and the resorts pay them one peso per piece as it causes troubles to some tourist when the suddenly step on it.

My childhood is quite boring and I wasn't able to enjoy some of beach activities like making a sand castle, writing on the beach sand, riding on the boat, and throwing sand with my friends. These are simple things yet I still want to experience to fulfill some of my desires in life that I failed to do when I was a kid.

These images are the afternoon scenery when the sun is about to set. Which is one of my favorite time that gives me a relaxing feeling and peaceful mind.

One of the challenges we encounter during that night is the source of our food to fill in our stomach. We have enough water together with us, 3 bags of snacks, instant noodles, bread, biscuits but we don't have rice for dinner. I never thought that our dinner is so expensive that one menu cost 500 pesos yet it is a local dish.

That night our bill cost 2,200 pesos which is expensive compare to buffet restaurants. But we don't have a choice, we need to eat and fill our hungry stomach.

We just discover the cheap restaurants available during our walking session that night after. Imagine we eat our breakfast for 600 pesos compare to the 2,200 pesos.

Lesson : Research is necessary before going to a certain place.

We tried the snorkeling that morning after our first night and we just rent a boat from locals. The charge is only 500 pesos and 50 pesos rental for snorkels. We don't rent for safety jackets because the water waves are normal that day.

The resorts also offers island hopping package for 2,000 pesos good for 3 hours but it is bit expensive. Our boat rental only cost 650 pesos and the local pump boats exceed our expectation. So I gave him 1000 pesos for letting us to experience the island hopping and snorkeling activity.

We visited the turtle island where you can see the best snorkeling spot, bat cave, old Japanese grave and crystal clear water that sparkles when the sunlight strikes the waves.

I am proudly to introduce Sipalay city to anyone who wants to visit our province. Promise you will definitely enjoy the place with out moving too far from your place. We just need to discover the place and appreciate the beauty of nature. Because no creation of God is not impressive, only humans who destroys it.
