Weekend Travels #2 - Temple of Leah, Philippines
Hey guys, I'm back with another weekend travel! :D
So last Saturday (Nov. 4, 2017) me and a group of friends visited the Temple of Leah in Barangay Busay, Cebu City. Situated on top of a hill, construction of the temple started way back in 2012 and is still currently ongoing but the temple was opened to the public in 2015. Dubbed as Cebu's Taj Mahal, the roman inspired 7-story high mansion covers more than 5,000 square meters of land and just like Taj Mahal, the temple was built in memory of a beloved wife.
In the middle of the courtyard you will find a fountain and the details on it is really well done, in the middle of the fountain you will find a statue of three naked ladies with four horses and four fishes surrounding them. Way back in roman times it was very common for statues to be nude, both for males and females and since the temple was inspired by Rome, the same can be seen around the place.

When you enter the main hall the first thing that'll definitely catch your attention is the 9 foot bronze statue of Leah Villa Albino-Adarna to whom the temple was named after. Teodorico S. Adarna is a businessman, the husband of late Leah Adarna and owner of the temple. At the back of statue is a gorgeous and colorful stained glass that really enhances the bronze statue especially when the light reflects on it, and at the bottom is a plaque that reads
BELOVED WIFE AND MOTHER
LEAH V. ALBINO-ADARNA was chosen Matron Queen of her Alma Mater, the University of Southern Philippines. This nine foot bronze statue portrays her composure and regal bearing when she was crowned. May the beholder discern her innate beauty, poise and genteelness.

Although still under construction, the temple already attracts a lot of tourists both local and foreign and this is because of the detail put in into making the statues and the temple itself. I highly recommend visiting Temple of Leah next time you're in Cebu.
How to get there
Option 1 (Recommended)
It is recommended to bring your own vehicle when visiting the temple, don't worry about parking space because there is a parking area inside the temple for a fixed price of 100 Php. There is also a parking area outside for free, but has limited space.Option 2
The Go To Tops company offers tour packages not only for Temple of Leah but for other attractions in Busay.Option 3
Starting at JY Square you could opt to ride a habal-habal for 50 Php per person (do note that the prices are not fixed and may vary per habal-habal driver and your haggling skills) and just tell the driver that you want to go to the Temple of Leah.
