5 reasons why I LOVE Balai Rajah | Travel Blog

1. YOU CAN SAVE MONEY.

• yes the rent is 10,000 a night. But you can have up to 20 guests! Kid’s arn’t charged either think about it; if you were to stay in other resorts and rent rooms, the price range would be 3k to 5k for JUST 2 people. So if 20 kayo in a group, that would amount to almost 50k! no food yet, entrance or other activities offered by the resort. There are 4 large airconditioned bed rooms, a large sala (we also use it as a sleeping area when we stay over) and a camping area if you’d like to bring tents. Two kitchens and bbq grills to cook your own food. Also ABSOLUTELY NO CORKAGE. You can bring 50 lechons and 50 gallons of beer if you’d like.

2. NO DISTURBANCE | EXCLUSIVE

• When you rent Balai Rajah, you get the WHOLE ENTIRE REST HOUSE, BUNGALO, POOL, CR’S, KITCHENS and PARKING AREA TO YOURSELF.
  No outsiders or day tourers to ruin your family fun or romantic night out.

3. CLEAN

• There will be freshly changed beddings on every bed upon your arrival, trash from previous guests will have been thrown out (Samal Island segregates their trash! Please keep this in mind when you check in. You must seperate your biodegradables from your non-biodegradables), the floors will have been mopped and swept also the cr’s will be clean by the time you check in. The pool is also chlorine treated and is kept clean from fallen debrees like leaves and flowers.

4. LOCATION

• exactly 3 minutes from the barge, and 5 minutes away from family favourite beach resorts (ex. Paradise, Costa, Blue Jazz, Holiday etc). So those who don’t have cars may take tricycles or habal habal from the barge to Balai Rajah. This is also a haven for island hopers and athletes who bike/jog around samal. After a tiring day of island hoping, instead of hoping back on the barge to head back to the city, relax and recharge at Balai Rajah instead!

5. PERFECT FOR FAMILY BONDING

• Balai Rajah has no wifi the vision of Balai Rajah was for it to be a family rest house were family members could bond and rekindle without the distractions of modern tech addictions. Pretend you’re in the 90’s or early 2000’s again when you didn’t hunt for a strong wifi connection or wait for your crush to like your edited pictures. Have a conversation and learn something you never knew about your sister, or cousin or even your mom. We never realise how much we don’t know until we start asking.

P. S. There is a Magic Sing available for rent, a dvd player (bring your own DVDs please) and a large area for kids to run around.

There’s so many more reasons to love balai rajah but my list would be too long to hold on to your millenial attention span so my advice is for you to hurry and book a night or two there before the holiday season comes around.
