Travel to Croatia # 6 ( the captivating Trogir)
The captivating town of Trogir is established between medieval walls on a small island, so close to the Dalmatian coast, that is connected to it by a bridge of about 20 meters. At the opposite end has another bridge that links it with a larger island, Čiovo. Trogir is one of those places that deserves its status as a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

For some strange reason, Trogir is not on many of the top ten lists of places to visit in Croatia, often being proposed as a day trip from Split . However, if I had only one day to visit Croatia, I would not doubt my destiny: Trogir.
Trogir Harbour
The old town of Trogir retains many perfectly preserved buildings that date back to the Middle Ages, turning a stroll through its marble streets lit by old-fashioned streetlights, into a wonderful experience. Some of the most important tourist attractions that are worth visiting in Trogir are:
First of all, Trogir beaches:
Every inch of the coast of the island of Trogir is a candidate to be a beautiful beach, but there are also well known beaches throughout Croatia, such as Okrug Gornji.

The Harbour:
Despite being a small port, it is one of the main attractions of Trogir. It is worth taking a walk on it and practicing a bit of "yacht watching".

Tip: It is highly recommended to spend the night in Trogir instead of visiting it as a day trip from Split. It is cheaper and is a bit less crowded. In any case, if you travel by your own car you must expect that there will be traffic jams to cross the bridge that connects Trogir with the mainland. One option is to make the journey on foot.
