Funny Menu Mistake

in #travel4 years ago

There are a lot of mistakes in menus in Thailand - that is part of the fun. You can normally tell what it is that they are talking about if they make a small mistake like call it "french fried" instead of "french fries" (this is actually very commonly misspelled) or if they use "crap" instead of "crab."

However, every now and then you encounter a mistake so wild that it doesn't offer any sort of clue as to what the food might actually be. This was one of those instances.

At dinner last night we met at a local popular place called "John's Place." I have to imagine that there isn't actually anyone named John that is employed or part of the ownership here because I can't make heads or tails of what Stir Pueblo Stories could possibly be. I was with a group of around a dozen people from all over the world and no one could say that they had ever heard of a vegetable that is called "Pueblo Stories."

That doesn't mean it isn't a thing but for none of us to have ever heard this terminology before is a bit strange.

Even stranger is that this item was The very first thing on the menu

anyone out there have any idea what this could be? It certainly was funny to a lot of us. Just not funny enough for us to order it. I wish I had. The ham and cheese toastie I ordered was terrible.
