VIGAN : the hype is over in waiting for the pre-pageant of Miss Universe January 15, 2017

What can I say but Filipinos do love beauty pageants! And what is the most important of them all in the world? Miss Universe.

The Philippines is carrying the crown. Who can forget the last event in Las Vegas in December 2015? Each Filipino, young and old, remember it by heart. No matter how sorry we were for Miss Colombia, Miss Philippines as Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach have won our hearts!

For the first time ever, the pre-pageant event for 20 contestants this 2017 is being held in Vigan right now as I am writing my post. My sister-in-law and I didn't wait for the fashion show as we left the moment all candidates have paraded from their hotel in Calle Crisologo to the venue, Plaza Burgos.

As usual, a Filipino time was an almost 2 hours delay. Surely we could have done better, I mean it's not just Filipinos who are involved here, there are the candidates from all over the world and their entourage.

Anyway, we did have fun watching and following a drone covering the event. It started with one but we find there were 3 in total.

As far as the concensus of Miss Universe in Vigan goes, this is only a one time event. After tomorrow, there will be no more dry runs and no more blocked streets in Vigan. 

Will Vigan host another Miss Universe pre-pageant event in the future remains to be seen. I doubt it will.
