Meet Fiona and Shrek, our hedgehog pets!
These are Shrek and Fiona, see their cute SNOUTS??
These two weren't here at home last January, though one of my nieces mentioned of wanting to buy one. I've never heard of having them as pets before, so I was a bit curious on how to handle them...let alone play with them.
This is Fiona
Fiona feeling threatened when I was going back to my space of the bench.
Recognisable by their spines, these are hollow hairs made stiff with KERATIN, not poisonous or barbed, and do not easily detached from their bodies.
When threatened, they basically pause and show-off their SPINES, Fiona needed a bit of a soothing voice and a rub to her belly before she calmed down and let me carry her.
He is Shrek, who gets bullied constantly by his companion
Way smaller than Fiona.
The first time I saw them in their two-level cage, Fiona was the only one who can be seen moving under the carpet in the top level, Shrek on the other hand wasn't budging in the corner of the other level. If he wasn't pointed to me, I would have missed him.
This was the 3rd time Shrek got pushed-off the table by Fiona. Seriously? And this guy went back to her still, or he can just be hard-headed and wanted his cuddle, perhaps.
JOY.
Trivia: Young hedgehogs' spines fall off then replaced by Quills when they mature.

ang kyut kyut! what do you feed them? I had an encounter once in Germany .. we called it Fifi - it was eating lots a ' earthworm .. but the owner of the place where we found it released it back despite us discouraging him it could get mauled by the lawn. So cute ah!
There's these cute stripy worms that my nephew buy for them to eat. Will take a shot tomorrow ;) Inggit inggit lang pag me time lolsss
