Suzhou the city located in south-eastern Jiangsu Province of East China

Founded in 514 BC, Suzhou has over 2,500 years of history, with an abundant display of relics and sites of historical interest. It is also called the "Venice of the East" or "Venice of China" because of the its canals and many stone bridges.
Założone w 514 pne Suzhou ma ponad 2500 lat historii, obfite w zabytki i artefakty. Jest również nazywane "Wenecją Wschodu" lub "Wenecją Chin" ze względu na kanały i wiele kamiennych mostow.

So my idea was to discover it's beauty travelling by bike, but soon after checking into my hotel, which was more or less in the centre of the city, the locals told me that there is around 5mil people living here and a simple trip to the old town takes 40 min by taxi. So I had to change my plans, I had to organise a day trip with a guide provided by the hotel. Well, the next morning the trip consisting of me a guide and driver in the big black bus drove off to see some of the most important attractions here.
Więc moim pomysłem było odkryć piękno tego miasta podróżując rowerem, ale wkrótce po zarejestrowaniu się w hotelu, który był mniej więcej w centrum miasta, dowiedziałam się, że mieszka tu około 5 milionów ludzi i prosta podróż do starego miasta zajmuje 40 minut taksówką. Wiec musiałam zmienić plany, musiałam zorganizować jednodniową wycieczkę z przewodnikiem zapewnionym przez hotel. Cóż, następnego dnia rano wycieczka w składzie, ja, przewodniczka i kierowca, czarnym busem pojechaliśmy zobaczyć jedne najważniejszych atrakcji tutaj.

After the opening of Silk Route in the Han Dynasty, the silk production and trade flourished. In the 14th century, the Chinese silk embroidery production reached it's highest peak.
Unfortunately nowadays most work made by hand has been replaced by machinery, but still some very sophisticated production is hand-made. Modern Chinese silk embroidery still dominates in southern China.
Po otwarciu Jedwabnego Szlaku w czasach dynastii Han, rozkwitła produkcja i handel jedwabiem. W XIV wieku chińska produkcja haftów jedwabnych osiągnęła najwyższy szczyt.
Niestety obecnie większość prac wykonywanych ręcznie została zastąpiona maszynami, wciąż jednak wyrafinowana produkcja wykonywana jest ręcznie. Współczesne chińskie hafty jedwabne wciąż dominują w południowych Chinach.

The Suzhou Silk Museum documents the history of silk production and Suzhou embroidery from around 2000 BC. Exhibits include old looms with demonstrations, samples of ancient silk patterns, and an explanation of sericulture. Of major note is a room full of live silk worms, eating mulberry leaves and spinning cocoons.

The whole process is hand-made mainly by women and with the help of big spinning machines . It starts with the selection of cocoons with one and two larvae inside.

Ostrożnie zebrane i podzielone, muszą być później ugotowane, w celu ich uśmiercenia, następnie aby rozwinąć nitkę kokonu na szpulkach.

That is what is left of the cocoons . The water is obviously very hot, it's a steamy room and the task is hard. The women are standing there the whole day, working, with their hands in the water. Next thing is stretching the cocoons with the double larvae inside, simply because they consist of more silk thread. They will later be used for quilt.
To właśnie co zostało z kokonów. Woda jest oczywiście bardzo gorąca, jest to pomieszczenie pełne pary i zadanie jest trudne. Kobiety stoją tam cały dzień, pracując z rękami w wodzie. Kolejną rzeczą jest rozciąganie kokonów z podwójnymi larwami w środku, po prostu dlatego, że składają się z większej ilosci nici jedwabnej. Zostaną później wykorzystane na kołdry.

The raw silk is not for sale, but unused cocoons are dried and sold as a beauty products.
Surowy jedwab nie jest na sprzedaż, ale niewykorzystane kokony są suszone i sprzedawane jako produkty kosmetyczne.

The interesting thing is that a visitor receives one ticket and can only buy two pieces, only here in the factory.

Ciekawostką jest to, że odwiedzający otrzymuje jeden bilet i może kupić tylko dwie sztuki, tylko tutaj, w fabryce.

Its really great to see the production process, even though all seems a bit like a show for tourists, the shop as the end part of the trip through museum, where you are almost expected not to leave without buying something .
Its all quite expensive, especially the embroidery on silk canvas. No wonder, it's masterpieces. In the room before I was watching the ladies creating amazing pieces on delicate silk . They are working like this for almost entire adult life. They are being selected through a contest when sill at school .Now the best in the county -appreciated by the government.
I have to mention about the odd lunch break. My guide and driver disappeared for 1,5 hours in a completely different room of the restaurant. Thats where they were eating , I was left alone with preordered menu. Finished my food in 30 min and had to wait until the break is over to come back to the museum. No one speaking english, no chance to speed up the process, no questions, no exchange.
Other than this it was a nice experience and I regret I didn't buy the quilt. I got myself a nice piece of artwork though, a painting of two cranes the longevity symbol, a very nice memoir of the visit.
Wspaniale jest zobaczyć proces produkcji, mimo że wszystko wydaje się trochę jak show dla turystów, sklep jako końcowy etap podróży po muzeum, w którym prawie oczekuje się, że nie wyjdziesz bez kupienia czegoś.
Wszystko jest dość drogie, zwłaszcza haft na jedwabnym płótnie. Nic dziwnego, to arcydzieła. W poprzednim pomieszczeniu obserwowałam panie tworzące te niesamowite wyroby na delikatnym jedwabiu. Wykonują te prace przez prawie całe dorosłe życie. Są wyłaniane w efekcie konkursu już w szkole. Teraz najlepsze w kraju – duma partii.
Muszę wspomnieć o dziwnej przerwie na lunch. Mój przewodnik i kierowca zniknęli na 1,5 godziny w zupełnie innym pokoju restauracji. Jedli w innym miejscu a ja zostałam sama z zamówionym wcześniej menu. Skończyłam w 30 minut i musiałam poczekać, aż przerwa się skończy, aby wrócić do muzeum. Nikt nie mówił po angielsku, nie było szans na przyspieszenie procesu, bez pytań, bez wymiany.
Poza tym było to miłe doświadczenie i żałuję, że nie kupiłam kołdry. Sprawiłam sobie jednak prezent, małe dzieło sztuki, obraz na jedwabiu przedstawiający dwa białe żurawie, symbol długowieczności, bardzo miłe wspomnienia z wizyty.

Yep m the crazy part is that you can touch the larvae while they feed on the mulberry leaf and they are stone cold. No animals harmed by me that is.

Although, in fact, I was motivated to leave you a comment for an entirely different reason. Please, take it just as a friendly suggestion or advice!
I noticed your article was copied/pasted (the English version) from the website where you are publishing your blog posts (your blog-site) to which home-page you provided a link at the end of your article (here). Therefore, I would like to draw your attention and bring to your awareness the following.
Steemit is mainly the platform and community created to support original content creators. I don't have a single doubt about the originality of your work posted here. So, it's not even the slightest problem! But it might become the problem for the following reason.
Here, on Steemit we have some bots that scroll the pages for plagiarized, copied/pasted and other sorts of abusive or malicious usage (most often somebody else's) content. Unfortunately, those bots are not always very smart and their algorithms are not that highly sophisticated to recognize (as it would be in your concrete case) that in question is the same individual who is publishing on both sites.
As well, there are some members too who are doing more or less the same job manually. But humans also make mistakes, so something like this may easily slip from their sight or maybe they just wouldn't dig that deep to figure it all out.
In both cases, it could easily turn out the ugly way not only being downvoted by those bots or a single member who might be convinced how he/she discovered another plagiarism, but as well with a horde of accounts that follow them.
In that case, your already collected earnings (through upvotes) may be decreased or even dropped down to total ZERO with such wave of downvotes. And from my point of view the worst, it might result ending up on the so-called "Black List" among other members who tried to abuse the platform system (in different ways).
Placing the appeal and explaining why you should be removed from such list might be quite long and frustrating process.
You are a too good content provider to run into such stupid trap.
Therefore, and as I am the one who would whenever is possible rather chose "better safe than sorry" way, I would like to suggest you the following solution (no matter how ridiculous it might sound to you).
When you are bringing here some article that you have previously published on your blog-site or elsewhere, and especially when you are adding to it some additional value (as you did with this one here by Polish translation), just post e.g. at the end of your article some kind of "Source or Bibliography attribution comment" with the exact link to the article you are republishing here (not the main, home-page link).
It could be something simple e.g. like this...
"Source: Own article previously published on my blog-site."
or something similar. You would probably figure out something even better! 😉😊
