I had to meet one of my collectors in Czech Republic and since the weather forecast was so promising I decided to combine my business trip with a short vacation to the amazing Rock City in the Prachov Rocks.

@anibas accompanied me to this magic site which I've visited once with my parents when I was 5 years old.

Wind and rain formed the sand stone plateau into these amazing towers within 60 millions years. The tallest pillars are up to 40 meters high and some of them have been given names due to their suggestive appearance.

There are paths and stairways around the rocks, some of them as narrow as one person can just pass through.

The whole region is called Bohemian Paradise for a good reason. There are many other attractive places to visit, like the ruins of the Trosky Castle which you can see here in the background.

The photos ware taken with the Nikon D800 (used optics: Nikon AF-S 14-24mm 2.8G ED and Nikon AF-S 28-300mm 1:3.5-5.6G ED VR) and the GoPro Hero4.

Intricate, magical, peaceful.... and you had the tough job of making a selection of photos, of choosing just a few of many! That's not easy with such surroundings.
Here is a small contribution, from the only angle you couldn't catch:

Thank you Sabina for joining me on this trip through Middle Earth! :-)

But of course. :)

WOW! such an amazing place! Thanks for sharing all the pics! I´m impressed by the place! :-)

Yes, it's amazing! I need to visit it again!

Beautiful in so many aspects.

this alone should provide a lifetime worth of painting inspiration!
WOW totally cool - a hidden gem! If you paint this, then many people would not believe that this is a real place!

check this video out Highlining at Peilstein with Slackline-Tools - die sind wirklich wahnsinnig!
Google Maps Oberhöflein to Peilstein - ist ja in Deiner Nachbarschaft, 50 Minuten.

Sieht sehr cool aus, erinnert mich an Deine Bilder :-D

Danke Caroline! Ja, ich habe oft schon öfter ähnliche Felsen gemalt.

Ich wusste nicht dass es die wirklich so gibt :-)))

love this post , awesome pictures , and what a Day ! <3

ROcks are incredibly beautiful

To great steemian artists traveling together; there will be a movie made about this one day where you meet a bear and are chased into a cave where there is a time travel machine and you meet all the people in @anibas last post.

That's gonna be a hell of a movie! :-)

....and he doesn't write "would" or "could", but "gonna be"! :)

I am not sure about the bear chasing scene though? Something about running from a bear... I just can't picture myself doing that.

Maybe it is a giant praying mantis made of metal designed from mad scientists seeking world domination? I imagine you could come up with some interesting designs together.Maybe it just wants to be friends I dunno; but perhaps anyone would hide if they saw one.

While exploring the steadfast giants, we saw various symbols carved into them. It's easy to leave a mark on these rocks, they are fairly soft, so many of the symbols were simple initials from visitors, and other trivialities, but then we realized that some were different, and seemed scattered randomly across the rocks. Still not taking them all too seriously, we began tracking them. We soon realized, it was a sequence of symnbls, reminescent of puzzle pieces that seemed to belong to something bigger. A larger image. Following these pieces, we arrived at a crack of two rocks. They were connected at the top, but apart at the bottom. There were no stairs carved between them, which made sense, the slit anyway seemed much too tight to walk through, and yet there was something about this very narrow path, something that made it seem worth exploring. It was impossible to tell if it lead somewhere, or if it was just a dead end.

Dada-dada-dada (More text here, but don't have time to write more right now)

Anyway, that's how we (eventually) came across the aforementioned cave.
For example... :P

Wow! I feel a great story coming. I saw some actual symbols drawn on rocks in the California desert as well. It was near a haunted old cabin that we stayed at with errie messages written in the book. I guess a mystery is more interesting than a monster movie; but the way you two draw there should be a crazy creature or two, lol!

Hahaha... You are right, there should! :)

Vertigo! Great photos!

Thanks Kathleen!

This is simply breathtakening! And not far away from Hungary! I look it up in the map :)))

It's definitely worth a trip and the accommodation in that area is quite cheap.
