Weekend Festival Estonia

Ohh yes, the Weekend Festival was finally here again and it kicked ass like no other. This post is not going to be photography orientated because many photos you see here are captured with a mobile and I don't call this photography.
I had a camera with me but only to a place where we stayed or went in the daytime. I never took it inside the festival area because it was not allowed and secondly I would have broken it anyway in there.

Weekend Festival is an EDM( electronic dance music ) festival and happens every year in the same countries. It started in Finland and expanded to Sweden and Estonia from there. This year there was no Weekend in Sweden. In Estonia, the festival happened 4th year now and I have been there every year thus far and all 3 days the festival is going on. This is the biggest EDM event in Baltic countries and probably even biggest in all northern countries. I'm happy to say that weekend Festival Estonia is considered the best one by many many people.

I said that the Festival is big. At any given festival day there are 30K people in place in the evening at least and over the course of 3 days, up to 100k people visit it inside the festival area. Weekend happens every year at the same place in Estonia, in the city named Pärnu. This is the summer capital of Estonia. The local population is around 39k people and you can imagine how many people there is during the Weekend Festival. The best thing is that the event happens at the beach, on the soft sand, this makes this festival even more special.

This is the main stage in the photo above. There are 4 stages in total on the fest area.

It pretty hard to find cheap accommodation is Pärnu at the festival time. Everybody cranks the price up about 2-3x and are asking basically 1000 eur for 3 nights. This year we didn't rent an apartment. We found an advertisement for a private house and owner there would let us camp in her yard for 3 nights and asks only 100 eur in total for 3 nights. We were allowed to use, toilet, showers, food making stuff and fridge so it was all great. This was no problem at all to sleep in a tent because we went there by car and we could take everything comfortable with us.

In the yard, there was a cute and very curious Siamese cat, even looked around in my car lol.

The only problem with this place was that it was 5 kilometers away from the beach and we had to walk that back after the festival every evening because obviously, I can't go with a car. A little alcohol might be involved XD.

This festival vibe is really awesome and it's common that you see people with strange costumes and faces painted. We also did a little bit of face painting.

Many artists are very famous at that festival. Let me give you some examples of this year's artists. ( Axwell/Ingrosso, The Prodigy, Afrojack, David Guetta, Post Malone, Kygo, Galantis and about 100 more artists, not all that famous of course.

Overall my favorite was The Prodigy, this was just crazy, no words. We were pretty much left without a voice afterward and the body was all painful of the jumping and going crazy.

Yes, who doesn't know me then I'm the guy with a red shirt.

Usually, after the Weekend Festival, we make a group photo of our group we drove there with, this year was no exception. Only thing was that the guy on the right had to leave earlier on that day and he wasn't originally on that photo so a great idea came, to photoshop him next to us as well and give my friends a good laugh. The outcome is pretty hilarious haha!

Anyway, it was hella fun all that time and I can't wait for the next year's WEEKEND FESTIVAL!!!
