Gullfoss (Waterfall) - Iceland

This is the first waterfall we came across on our travels in Iceland. Gullfoss is part of the Golden Circle road, located in South Iceland on the Hvítá (White) river which is fed by Iceland's second biggest glacier, the Langjökull. Water falls in two stages as you can see in the photos below, to the deep canyon. Canyon walls reach up to 70 meters in height.

I have seen many waterfalls in my life but this one blew my mind. This is just so strong, big, massive and the surrounding untouched wilderness gives this place entirely another vibe. When there is a sunny day, you can see a big rainbow over the waterfall, we weren't lucky enough to catch a sunny day.

I also heard that you wouldn't last a second if you somehow would get below this waterfall and water falls on you.
