Continuing our trip to Tivoli Gardens, the park opened on 15 August 1843 and is the second-oldest operating amusement park in the world. The oldest operating park is also located in Denmark close to Copenhagen...called Dyrehavsbakken... in 2016 Tivoli Gardens had 4,6 million visitors !!!

There are a lot of sweet little giftshops inside to.... or rather an abundance of overpriced cute items that one can buy ...
Everywhere you look there are little details that will catch your eye ...
The first ride we tried was The Galley Ships... an alltime goodie both for me and minime
it is sure to give you butterflies in the belly every time ( we always come back to this one ... this day I think we actually managed to try it 5 times hehe ...
We looked a lot at The Star Flyer... but I am not very patient when it comes to queues and the one for this one seemed endless but have a lookie here ... defo gonna try next time ...
right next to it is The Spinning Top another great butterflies in the belly creator
The Little Dragon is more for the smaller children... but Minime still loves it ... I did not get on ... last time I did ...it was akward to get out of the little dragon ... might make a fun Meme though ....
The next one is also for smaller kids... The Star Tower ... once we were up I was having second thoughts (I have tried bigger than this but being dropped from a height with your feet dangling somehow is eerie to me lol
There is a way higher version for big kids and adults called The Golden Tower were you get up to 63 meter height ... but fat chance of me trying that (I tried one that went even higher in Port Aventura in Spain... and al the time going up and hanging there I was thinking only one thing WHYYYYYY ! hihi
The mini version of this for kids is called The Panda ... this one is great for me to sit and chill a bit as minime tries it on endless repeat ...
after The Star Tower we took a look at the candy shop.... here they produce awesome drops
The oldie styled theme is cute
inside there are so many to choose from all shapes and sizes
Chocolates too...
You can make your own mix...
yummie... uff wish I could give you a whiff of the awesome fragrance in there so alluring indeed ... until your eyes fall on the prices and you realize that it is crazy .... lol
But defo worth a look !
On we went to The Flying Trunk... Denmark was the country of H.C. Andersen, and this ride is dedicated to his fairytales... I did not take pictures inside... but it is a journey through his fairytales ... as a child I remember this as being the house of mirrors ... later it was a horror ride .. but now it is a ride for all, with beautiful scenes from his fairytales ...
We also tried The Astronomer... here you can also get high up and enjoy the awesome views of the Park and the city ... you are in control of how high you go... here I felt no vertigo so we went high up ... might be something about having my feet on something hihi
The Vintage Cars is one thing we have tried always ...
With Minime in the driversseat I shot a little video .... A relaxing ride that is great with even the smallest toddlers ...
Another cute inspiring little souvenir shop...
It was now getting pretty late in the evening and we are getting closer to the end of the day ... the rides for the smaller children have closed down... and the other rides are now going faster ...
here we can see the tower of the cityhall in the background
The huge rollercoaster here in the background is called THE DEMON, this is one wild ride and features three loops and it reaches 28 metres at it's highest point, Minime is not ready for this one ... they have added a virtual reality experience on it ... I guess when Minime is bigger we will go for it !
Another Sweet little shop... The Nut House here you can get all kinds of awesome nuts ... huge selection ... and beware Tivoli prices
When we reached The Classic Carousel ... it was closed down ... I love the vintage beauty of it though !
The next ride we tried was Fatamogana (I have no pic of it sorry...)
This is a wild one goes 45 meters up and goes around at a good pace ... you get awesome views of the whole city of Copenhagen from it, we tried the soft version of it where we sit in a gondola for two... there is a crazy wild version that spins fast and no floor .... not for the fainthearted that is for sure ...
As you can see the darkness is setting in now
and the lights are on in this beautiful garden
Here is the ride Vertigo, another one that Minime is not quite ready for yet ...
but we sure were having the best day ever ... big smiles and lots of laughs
Here is a view of the Outdoor stage ... where there is Friday Rock every Friday throughout the summer season... also worthwhile to check out who is playing ...A lot of big names have played there ! It can be an advantage to book a table on one of the restaurants that overlooks the stage area ... to have a fuller view of the concerts while being comfortably seated and served hehe just a little trick...
The last ride we tried that day was The Roller Coaster ... I remember this one well from my childhood...
it is one of the oldest running wooden rollercoasters in the world, it was built in 1914... and it is always awesome ...
We had hoped to make it to The Ferris Wheel for our last ride but it had just closed down, and was on it's last ride of the day ... maybe next time we will start there ...
A last look of the Tivoli Gardens... the Concert hall and the lights in the night...
Till next time Dear Tivoli ...I hope it will be sooner than later ...still so much to try and to see ...
I hope you liked your trip to Tivoli through my eyes and I hope to bring you there again to see and explore more ...

Sounds like a lot of fun. I am sure your daughter enjoyed it immensely. The last time I went to an amusement park was 5 years ago because my family wanted to go. I didn't even go in. I just didn't enjoy crowded places and I hated the noise. Makes me anxious. Anyway, glad you have a wonderful holiday.
I have it the same way as you ... but my daughter only has me so sometimes I just gotta pull myself together and do it ... normally I try to do it on days where I know there are less people ... hehe but that is not possible on my bday ... but her happiness makes up for my uneasiness with being in a crowded place ... one good thing about tivoli is that there are lots of areas and many are quiet where you can sit away from all the business in the more gardenlike areas and by the lake they are distanced from the rides so you can actually find solace as well in there
Sounds like a wonderful place to be even for introverts :)
even for introverts I guess ... a lot of pensioners buy yearcards and take walks in the more quiet areas of the park ...it is really for everyone
A really fantastic post with amazing photos. You and your daughter obviously had a marvelous day out.
I have a fear of heights 😱so I think I would have given a couple of rides a pass....but I guess maybe I would brave some if I had a young child with me.
The sweet shop looks so inviting. One can just look and smell the wonderful tempting aroma and dream. 😀
That is true we had such a wonderful day and we were both so happy ... I used to be fearless before I got my daughter ... but after I got her I am so much more careful ... but I have to be brave to try the things with her ...the smell in that sweetshop was so wonderful ... but the prices quickly brought you back to reality though lol
Yes I was exactly like you before I had my children, fearless and invincible.....and suddenly I had responsibility. Parenthood changes everything.
it does I think the first 3 years after I had her I was unstable to the point of not being able to watch the news ... without feeling sad
