5 Statue of Gommateshwara
It was built on the order of Commander-in-Chief Chavundaraya, in the Talakad Ganga Kingdom, currently located at Vindyagiri hills, Shravanabelagola, Karnataka, India, in the year 993 AD. The statue Gommateshwara is dedicated to the Jain god Bahubali. Jainism is one of the ancient religions and came into being during the 7th Century BC in Eastern India. It is built in 15 years of time frame 978-993 AD. It is one of the largest free standing statues in the world. It was built using granite. It has a height of 57 feet and located at an altitude of 1020.16m on the top of Vindyagiri hill.
