Pura Besakih is a temple complex on the slopes of Mt. Agung in Bali, Indonesia. It is the largest, holiest and most important Hindu temple in Bali. Perched at nearly 1000m, it is an extensive complex of 23 temples built on 6 terraced levels. The lava flow from a series of eruptions of Mt. Agung in 1963 missed the complex by mere meters.
