Rovinj, a Croatian city on the western Istrian coast, boasts many natural and historical sights, which at each step testify to the rich history and beauties of the city. The local population lives mainly from tourism, fishing, agriculture, growing of vines and wine production. They are proud of the rich natural and cultural sights such as the old city core, the luxurious Zlatni Rt park forest, the protected islands and a part of the coast.

There is an interesting legend about their Church of St. Euphemia, which is supposed to be the largest Baroque building in Istria, and the tower is the highest point in Rovinj, with which a magical view of the city and the archipelago surrounding it is opened. The church tower is the replica of the belfry of the basilica of St. Mark's in Venice with a bronze statue of St. Euphemia on top. The statue turns in the direction of the wind, which is indicated by the right hand.

Legend of St. Euphemia says that in 800 a sarcophagus was floating in the sea, in which the immobile body of the beautiful girl was immersed. On the scroll of the parchment, he wrote: "This is the body of the holy Euphemia, the device of the martyr of Calcedon, born for the heaven on the 16th of September of the Lord's Year 304."

The weather wasn't kind to us, with its strong winds and rainy hours so we couldn't explore the city as we would want to. Maybe next time, if we will be near.
