Australia Day is the official national day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26 January, it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British ships at Port Jackson.
On Australia Day people celebrate all the things they love about Australia: land, sense of fair go, lifestyle, democracy, the freedoms, particularly people who live in Australia.
More than half of all Australians participate in Australia Day attending events organised by State Governments, local councils, community groups or getting together with family and friends.

This is really a great event, never knew Australia celebrate this day, The event is synonymous with Independence in Nigeria I think.
