Mountains, valleys and cute Monkeys
Mauritius is a tiny island but there's much to experience and explore.
One of our favorite places on the island to visit is the Black River Gorges National Park. 🏞
Apart from the beautiful scenery and breathtaking views down the gorge, some amazing waterfalls and great hiking routes it's also the habitat of these beautiful macaque monkeys.

These monkeys are really fast and I'm careful not to go to close but one cannot help but take some photos of these cute little babies.
What have you got there?
What's going on down there?
Not only can you find monkeys here there is a huge variety of fauna and flora for the enthusiasts.

The kids went off on their own to explore and I won't mind telling you that we lost them for about an hour... 😂 I was frantic with worry as as soon as one enters the forest all sounds from the outside disappears. They walked in deeper without telling us and we didn't know which direction they took. I'm happy to say they found their way back... Unlike Hansel and Gretel. 😂
Hi ho hi ho into the forest we go

I hope you enjoyed the photos. This was from our trip to Mauritius in 2017 before we relocated here.

@adalger I think you might enjoy this one. 😊
great pics. Have never heard of Mauritius
Glad to have taught you something. 😉 If you go back in my feed there's a whole post on Mauritius and where it is. We're basically a pinprick of an island next to Madagascar. A rock in the middle of the ocean. We are originally South Africans but we now live here for a while.

Sad but true. hopefully I get my greencard for mars.
You got some cool shots here... :)
But I love the view from above that you shot! That's amazing, especially with the spot of sunlight on the landscape...
Thank you @ackhoo glad you enjoyed it. 😊

Great shots. The little monkeys are quite cute... but the big ones are kind of scary.
@trincowski yes. I am careful around them. I know in SA they have bitten a school friend of my kids and she had to have a series of 11 rabies shots. Some are quite aggressive especially when they feel threatened. But oh darn it. So cute. 😊

So, they're a bit like girls? The cutest ones are always the more dangerous and the ones who will cause the most damage? (Just kidding.)
