Day out
We had a bit of a cross-island and coastline hugging day out with some friends to show them the sights.
One of the places we stopped off was the Black River Gorges National Park. 🏞 We were blessed in the fact that it wasn't raining. It has an amazing view of the coastline from the top as well as it being a wonderfully wooded area.

We were really grateful to have some sunshine although many of the hiking trails were so muddy we weren't going to chance it.

We descended to the coast and this is La Morne mountain from one side

We didn't swim today as we were just out for a drive but I was sure feeling it. Everyday is a swimming day on the island. 😊
Our last stop for the day was at Flic-en-Flac Beach where you can see La Morne mountain from a distance
From here on we made a quick stop at the supermarket and then headed back home which took another hour to reach.
All in all we had an amazing time!

Beautiful place.
It's a shame that the reef topography limits safe swimming to the beach areas owned by the expensive hotels.

Hi there. Thank you for stopping by. I'm assuming you've visited our little Rock at some point? 🤔 We do swim at many of the beaches and since being here I've never swum at the hotel beaches as it feels to intrusive. We live close to the Mon Choisy main beach and have a two kilometer stretch of open beach where we swim daily. Glad you enjoyed the post.😊

😂 😂 As I just woke up I am still wiping sleep from my eyes so probably didn't even notice. You were just as kind not to point out a mistake in my post.. 😂 I need to rectify. Knowing now that you taught English will make me recheck everything. 😉 Although may I add. English is my second as I grew up speaking Afrikaans in South Africa.
Interesting you should mention teaching English in Thailand. I'm super interested in doing something similar somewhere abroad next year. Wishing you a beautiful day too. 😊

Hi @rossfletcher thanks for stopping by. 😊 We haven't had a proper downpour in some weeks but do you know it's the 4th time I visited that mountain and the first time I could tak pictures and actually see the waterfalls and the view due to the fact that it wasn't raining. 😂 Previously we got soaked every time we visited. So although it was cold (for us) up there we had a very good time. 😊

20 years ago i got to spend 3 weeks on the North Shore of Oahu not far from Waimea Bay. The random rain showers were were wonderful.
