Welcome to Adelaide’s Fringe
During four weeks artist from all over the world will perform in venues in parks, warehouses and empty buildings but also in theatres, hotels, art galleries, cafes and town halls.
2018, Fringe is happening from 16 February – 18 March. It started tonight on North Terrace with street party and Adelaide immediately came to life. This was the first of more than 1200 shows and events.
It was real pleasure walking the streets during the opening night. Thousands of people gathered to enjoy the event. Costumes, performances, colors are surrounding you and you get the feeling that you entered magical timeless world.
With camera in my hand, I followed river of people and even pushing and squeezing through the crowd was plesurable.
There was something for everyone from kids to those of an older age.
No matter how long I speak about this festival nothing can describe it better than photos.
The evening finished with laser light show. Every building was a canvas for hundreds of changing patterns and colors. One of the best on this parade of light was a colorful presentation of aborigines culture.

Wow, amazing photos. Australia always looked for me too distance exotic country. Looking at photos I understood that we are just a people and we all everywhere are the same.

My brother made it out there this evening, said it was a great atmosphere.

Thats pretty awesome mate. You should try to check out Stef Tisdell if you like comedy, I'm 99% sure she's performing down there for the first time this year.

Opa that looks like a lot of fun. I really enjoyed reading your post. I hope that one day I'll get to visit your beautiful country that is so interesting. Few years ago I applied for a visa but my profession isn't on the list. But tourists are welcome 😎 and I love to travel so that is covered 😆😎
