Beautiful Nature of Silicon Valley_ 실리콘 밸리의 자연을 탐험해보자!

Who would have thought there is this beautiful heaven of nature in the Silicon Valley? Looking down at the bay area from Vista Point helped me realize that my identity, vision and goals are absolutely not constrained by an office cubicle or my computer screen. We are still human. Still breathing, appreciating every breeze that passes by our noses.
실리콘 밸리의 한중간에 이렇게 아름다운 자연의 천국이 있을 줄이야, 누가 알았겠어요? 비스타 포인트라는 지점까지 올라가서 기술과 자본의 중심지인 동네를 내려다보니, 저의 정체성과 비전과 목표가 회사 구석자리나 컴퓨터 스크린 따위에만 구겨져 있는 것이 아니라는 것을 깨닫게 되었지요. 우리는 아직까지는, 숨을 쉬고 바람을 사랑하는.. 사람이더군요.

These trees are older than anyone who is alive today. Strange thoughts emerged. They probably knew me. They might not know what I do for living or how much I make, etc., but perhaps they knew that I am seeking for something, like air. rest. silence. wind. life. some sort of transcendent presence to rely myself on.
No wonder talented writers in the past introduced us wise, talking trees. They noticed the spirituality of trees.
이 나무들은 현재 살아있는 어느 누구보다 더 오래 살았어요. 이상한 생각이 들더군요. 그들은 저를 알아요. 그들은 제가 무슨 직장에 다니는지, 연봉이 얼마인지정도는 모르지만, 제가 무언가를 찾고 있는 사람이라는 것을 알겠지요. 공기, 쉼, 침묵, 바람, 생명... 제 실존을 맡기고 싶은 특별한 차원의 존재를요.
과거에 재능이 뛰어난 작가들이 우리에게 말을 하고 현명한 나무들을 소개해주었던 것은 우연이 아닐 거에요. 그들은 나무들이 지닌 영성을 알고 있었던거죠.

Beautiful creatures. When will we be able to introduce our names to them?
아름다운 피조물들이죠? 우리는 언제쯤 이들에게 인사를 건네며, 서로의 이름을 알 수 있게 될까요.
