Street photo of the Celestial Empire

in #travel6 years ago

I would like to show a couple of street photos. I decided to dedicate it to China. I was only in a few large cities - Beijing, Guangzhou, Changsha and Liyang. Admittedly, these cities are certainly impressive!

You know, Guangzhou reminded me a lot of the city from anti-utopian films - tall spiers of skyscrapers, scurrying back and forth cars - huge jungles of glass and concrete, where the slum neighbors with skyscrapers. Huge bright screens twist advertising around the clock ... And it is impossible to hide from it ...

Skyscrapers literally come down over each other - when you walk down the street, it seems that you walk along a large gorge or canyon. Only instead of the rocks around the glass towers.

I have heard a lot about China's environmental problems - that there is nothing to breathe and the Chinese authorities impose restrictions on the movement of personal transport.

For example, in China, very popular electric scooters - they are just a huge number. They are famously dissected by both young people and elderly matrons. But there is some inconvenience - they drive like hell. And since the electric scooter is a noiseless mode of transport, they frighten when suddenly emerging from behind. You can easily get him under the wheels - I once got into a similar situation, well that managed to dodge!

Since Beijing and Tashkent are at the same latitude, I thought that the climate in Beijing would be similar to Tashkent. How I was wrong - in the summer in Beijing and in Guangzhou it is very stuffy and even the rain does not bring a saving coolness, but on the contrary, it only makes it worse! Yes, we in Tashkent are very hot in the summer, but the air is dry and the heat is transferred much easier.

But in Guangzhou and Beijing, even small shops and eateries are air-conditioned and can be saved from stuffiness. In Guangzhou, as in Tashkent, the subway is a salvation from stuffiness - it is quite fresh and cool in it. You can ride a couple of stops and take a breath.

By the way, China's transport infrastructure. In my opinion, China is the world leader in the use of high-speed trains

I read an interesting article that said that these trains are unprofitable, but supported by the state, because they allow you to link and consolidate China, and to unload the overcrowded city agglomerations and bring people to the suburbs - thanks to high-speed trains, people can live in several hundreds of kilometers from the city and come there only for work.
As I said, Guangzhou is the city of the future. In this respect, I liked Beijing more - there are still beautiful old buildings.

By the way, I really liked the Beijing taxi - in the first place, it's cool in the car. Secondly, they are clean and relatively inexpensive. Thirdly, drivers at the very least, but I know a few words in English. And, thirdly, drivers are silent while they are going! And this is their most important virtue!

But, incidentally, I liked Beijing not only because of my taxi - it is also famous for its sights. One of the main is Tiananmen Square - the largest area in the world.
