TANGHULU - BEST CHINESE WINTER SNACK YOU CAN FIND 🍓🥝🍊

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Winter in China can be quite cozy with all the snacks and food being cooked, steamed and sold on the streets. You will never have to worry about getting hungry here, there will always be something for you to snack on.

My favorite winter snack that you can find on the streets in China is definitely oneandonly: tanghulu!!!

Tanghulu ( the literal translation from Chinese is sugar bottle gourd) is a combination of different kinds of berries, including strawberries and fruits that are put on approx 20 cm long bamboo sticks or skewers, dipped in hot sugar glaze and dried. This glaze later becomes a beautiful light brown colored sugary coating😋

I personally love tanghulu with strawberries, it’s a perfect combination of a little sourness of a strawberry inside and a sweet taste of the glaze outside that mix together in your mouth😍

Not only it’s a very yummy snack to choose on the street, it’s also so amazingly colorful that it’s quite hard to just walk by these little skewers with the “drops of heaven” speared on.

If you ever happen to be in China, don’t hesitate to try it🙃🙂

Thank you again, now i know is called Tanghulu haha usually we say it in different chinese word. 😅

Really?How do you call it?

We called it "Ping Tong Wu Lo" as I speak in Cantonese 😀

Ohh,I see!😁

I see that you currently living in China, do you find any difficulties in communication? Although I'm Chinese but I could not speak Chinese really well especially I can't read any word when I'm in China. 😂

Yeah, I can speak and read some Chinese so it’s not really a problem unless something serious happens, but for daily life routine it’s enough;)

Great, kinda feel bad for myself as Chinese not good in Chinese wording haha.. Have a great day to you. Malaysia would have great varieties of food as well, welcome you to Malaysia for great food experience.

You too!😊

Wawww...wonderful
