A gem in Ontario
Another day trip we took while camping was up the Bruce Peninsula to the beautiful town of Tobermory.
There are many great things to do in this area. One of the most popular is the glass bottom boat tour. There are multiple ship wrecks in the area. Since the water is crystal clear in the Georgian bay it makes for great viewing of these wrecks!

Some of the boat tours also go to flowerpot island. It is called this do to the flower pot like rock formations that are found their. There are tours that drop you off at the island and it is also accessible by hard bottom boats or kayaks. There are hiking trails along the island with great views. We hope to tackle these trails when Luke is older, or at least canoe or kayak around the island.

One spot that we did view was Big Tub Lighthouse. This is another one of the lighthouses along the Bruce Peninsula.
There is a large rock shore in front of it with a deep drop off. This is a popular spot for scuba diving. There was a large group getting ready for a dive while we were there. It is the entrance to Big Tub Bay which holds one the most popular shipwrecks of the area, the Blue Heron. This is the view looking out from the lighthouse.
As for the town of Tobermory. Is is a small town but has a lot of cute shops and restaurants. We stopped at an outdoor eatery that served fresh fish and chips. It was pirate themed and dog friendly. The battered fish was delicious!
Our last stop of the day was the candy store for some fresh ice cream! When we went inside we were shocked by the size of the candy store. They had everything inside, Big League Chew, Gobstoppers, home made fudge and peanut brittle. This store is a must stop for anyone that visits. Luke was in heaven!
There are many other things to do here, you can take the Ferry over to Manitoulin Island, you can visit the Grotto, you can take an air tour.. you can keep coming back!
And that is my dadview on our trip to Tobermory.
