Travel Tip: Bezdez Castle, inspirational Gothic masterpiece surrounded by legends

Welcome to my Travel Tip edition where I promote some of the most beautiful places, interesting landmarks and impressive architectural sites of my homeland, the Czech Republic.
Today, I am going to take you to another beautiful Czech castle, the Castle of Bezdez.
Located 20 km (12 mi) southeast of the town of Ceska Lipa in Northern Czech Republic, the Bezdez Castle was found as early as in 1264 by the renowned Czech king Premyslav Otakar II (also known as Ottokar II of Bohemia).

One of the most important Gothic castles in the Czech Republic, Bezdez has a long and turbulent history as it was attacked and even burnt down several times in the past centuries. There are also many legends and myths surrounding the castle, including spooky stories about its tower being haunted by ghosts.
The castle and its romantic natural surroundings have also inspired many Czech artists, writers and composers such as the poet Karel Hynek Macha and the world-famous music composer Bedrich Smetana. In fact, there is a lake found just outside the castle that was named after Macha as he loved spending his time wandering local landscape.
Open to public from April to October, the castle offers guided tours for a small fee but you can also explore the inside of this majestic Gothic structure on your own. If you come to visit the Bezdez Castle in summer, make sure to also check out the Macha Lake, a very popular spot sought after by domestic visitors.

Wow beautiful castle, are there a lot of castles in Czech Republic? I only know of the one in Prague when I last visited.
The Czech Republic is the land of Castles..... Everywhere you go there will be at least one:).....
