This beautiful hill called by the indigenous Autana, was declared a natural monument in 1978. This tepuy is located in the state of Amazonas Venezuela and is approximately 1,300 meters high. The upper part of this mountain is completely walled by sandstone cliffs belonging to the Roraima Formation and one of its main attractions is that within the mountain there is a cave formed entirely quartz, measuring 400 meters in length and 45 meters in height.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #97 - winner announcement!

@axeman Asian Sunday entry:

Abu Dhabi Highlights. Obviously Dubai is much more famous by it's skyscrapers architecture and mighty Burj Khalifa as a flagman. Though Abu Dhabi (actually the most richest Emirate) has a lot enough examples of stunning sky architecture as well. And really looking like some kind of spaceships at the starting place... Shot very close to sunset on a golden hour colors with up perspective giving a lot of vertical dynamics. Enjoy the scenery and the colors!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #97 – winner announcement!

@robbertb Australian Monday entry:

The majestic peak in the center of the photo is Aoraki or Mt Cook, New Zealand's highest mountain. It soars into the air an impressive 12.000 feet. This picture captures the vastness of the valley surrounded by mountain ranges. I love how the yellow brownish grass contrasts with the blue skies. The empty road finishes the shot.

Sunrise over Sahara Dunes. Golden hour in the Sahara is beautiful: The light of the new day emphasises the shapes of the huge sand dunes and paints them in all kinds of yellow, orange and red tones.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #97 - winner announcement!

@mrprofessor European Thursday entry:

The Julian alps - Slovenia. During these years of adventure on this world of ours, I've been through many challenges; cycling the Julian alps during the winter was one of the toughest. High elevations, freezing temperatures and just a tent as shelter, those days can me remembered in pictures, but the feeling of being out there will never be translatable in any form.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – North American Friday week #97 – winner announcement!

@fonteynb North American Friday entry:

One of the main attractions in Ontario/New York State are surely the Niagara Falls. When seeing them on a sunny day the view can be astonishing. The constant mist hanging over the falls, combined with the sunshine makes the rainbow visible. This photo was taken from the Ontario side, from where you have a full view on the Horseshoe falls.

Night view of the Bogota downtown. Home to approximately 7.2 million people, Bogota is the capital and largest city of Colombia, administered as the Capital District. I took this shot from the Bacata Tower, the tallest building in the city.

Pichilemu is a popular surfing spot at the Pacific coast in Chile. We drove over 3 hours to reach this place from the capital city Santiago. Sometimes the waves here can reach 9 meters high. The black sand beaches, cliffs and rock formations are quite impressive as well.

Cold or hot, flamingos stand in water. Here they are having a feast in a Bolivian Laguna. They eat larva, insects, algae, mollusks, crustaceans and fish. Don’t know which of these delights they found there, but they devour it. Yummy! No matter how much we have seen before, they are always interesting to watch.

View of Plaza de Armas in Cusco, Peru

While every city in South America with Spanish origins features a large square in its center, it is known by a different name in each country: Bolivians call it the "plaza major" (main square), Peruvians the "plaza de armas" (parade ground) and in Ecuador it is known as "parque central" (central park).

Sunset at Manzanillo Beach

Atardecer playa manzanillo.jpg

Playa Manzanillo is a bay surrounded by mountains and one of the most paradisiacal beaches of Margarita Island, Venezuela, where you can enjoy beautiful natural settings such as sunsets. It is an isolated place of white sands, calm waters somewhat cold, perfect to rest and relax-

The Altair shipwreck

The south coast of Brazil represents one of the biggest dangers for those navigating the southern Atlantic; the blue waters and sunny sky are easly taken for easy along the many miles of rectilinear coastal line - a trap that has been haunting ships for centuries.

The sunset from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, in Colombia. The colors of the sunset are magical and the crescent moon is playing hide ans seek with the trees.

Black and white sunrise in Playa Lído-Venezuela. I took this picture on one of my training days in this place, for me to appreciate the size of the sun and see this ring around it is wonderful, however it is bigger than we see and think. We are like a grain of sand before this great Astro of the Universe. Everything has its beauty and essence.

Margarita Island - Venezuela

Touring Margarita Island on the way to Guacuco Beach with my family, I stopped to photograph this wonderful orange sunset in various shades. I like competing in this wonderful challenge.
