Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - South American Saturday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD!
Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of South America.
See the winner of the last week´s South American Saturday @mrprofessor with the following entry:
Canyon Fortaleza - Cambará do Sul, Brazil. On the flat lands of southern Brazil I once found myself near this big scar on the earth. The canyons Fortaleza and Intaimbezinho are one of the most iconic and impressive points to contemplate what nature can produce.
Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

Elephant mountain is easy to reach by metro and after a half hour hike up several stairs it offers an excellent view of Taipei and the unique Taipei 101. At sunset the viewing platform is always packed with people and many photographers.

I was able to capture this beautiful sunset in Sydney. I took the picture from the ferry. The trip over I have always changed the lenses back and forth because by the trip again and again different possibilities resulted. My goal was to get the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House on one picture. Have a good start into the new week!

Great Ocean Road Long Exposure, Australia. In 2016, I escaped Melbourne for a few days to cycle along the famous Great Ocean Road. On the first day, I got unlucky with the weather and instead of spending the night in my tent as I had planned to, I arrived soaking wet at a hostel. Luckily, on the second day the rain had stopped and I was able to make some stops on my way to capture the incredible landscape.

The construction of Karnak temple, in Egypt, started 4000 years ago and continued up until the time the Romans took control of Egypt, around 2000 years ago. Karnak is eclectic, since every Egyptian ruler who worked at Karnak left his own mark. Those are the statues of Ramses II as Osiris.

Dusting Of White. The storm is moving so fast that snow is still hitting the ground after the moisture cloud has moved past. Creating this mist like effect on the ground, which surrounds the beautiful red rock mountains of Sedona Arizona USA. This image was captured on 2-18-2019.

In this Easter I show this photo taken in Caracas, Venezuela, some years ago. It is a valley at 900 meters above sea level. The photo was taken at one of the mountains located at the north of the city.
The current living conditions in Caracas are vey difficult for their inhabitants.
This is Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley) in the Atacama Desert region of northern Chile. I was totally smitten by its unique wild beauty when traveling there. From the nearby town of San Pedro de Atacama, you can hike or bike along the trails leading to the valley. Enjoy the moonlike landscape! :)
Iguacu Falls Reflection
When you visit the Iguacu Falls in Brasil, make sure to stay until the afternoon: Where a crowd of people was standing just hours before, I captured this beautiful reflection in the late afternoon when I had the place almost for myself.

Cangrejo Beach-Venezuela
I was able to capture this sunset at the moment that was about to hide before our eyes, walk very fast on the crab beach boardwalk to be able to take this wonderful picture.
One more old photo of Armação dos Búzios, Region of the Lakes of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Access to Praia da Azeda is by a path on a stone bench, which is continuously bathed by sea water. At the end of the day, the glare reflection of the setting sun set on the wet bench giving an interesting effect.
The Golden Hour in Playa Lido.
This is the name of this beautiful beach that is located in the town of Lecherias, belonging to the Anzoategui state in Venezuela. For me and for many residents of the place or not, it is a place worth visiting frequently, either for its beautiful sunsets or to see the practices of kitesurfing, or else when you do not have time to arrive to see the sunset, you can Observe the beautiful colors of the golden hour after sunset.
Argentina, a land of surprises and colors. The car runs but the eyes stop everywhere, in every grain of sand and in every corner of the sky. We are near Susques, in the north-west Argentina , almost on the border with Chile. Only peace, silence and some llamas grazing.
A place of the soul.
Banos, Ecuador is a nice place to explore if you like thermal waters and hikes.
Sugar cane is cultivated there, specially to produce alcohol (canelazo) and also the melcocha, a paste made from cane syrup. Getting a fresh sugar cane juice coming back from a hike where a saw tree cascades is so cool.
