Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - South American Saturday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD! Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of South America.

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

This is a picture of The Petrona Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They were the tallest building in the world until 2004. I went all the way to the top and it was a good experience, but it was raining and the views weren't that good. However, the view of the building from groundlevel did not disappoint. It is an amazing building!

In Arrowtown (NZ), there is a 4x4 track going up in the mountains. You'll have to cross about 20 plus rivers to reach the end of it which is an old gold mining station. All along the way the scenery is just stunning. Location: Arrowtown, New Zealand.

One of the most beautiful beaches of Tenerife is Playa de Almaciga. This coast with lots of cliffs and rocks and steep mountains is a stunning location. For this image I waited until the lights of the town of Almaciga started to shine. The glowing town makes a nice contrast to the dark mountains behind.

Dunes of Sossusvlei, Namibia. In Sossusvlei, the wonder is the land itself. The area is famous for its massive sand dunes, sculpted and smoothed by the wind in a desert completely devoid of surface water. The same winds that create the dunes also change them, and the sinuous lines and forms that amaze today may be different tomorrow. Even their colors change, the striking terra cotta easing into browns and beiges as the sun waxes and wanes.

Warshaw, Poland. This in sunrise at the square in old town of Warshaw.
This part of town was completele reconstructed after WWII but despite the fact that there are no ancient buildings here is very cozy and nice. These bright colors in the dawn sky made me run out of the hotel room almost barefoot. Had to hurry to reach the desired point of shooting until the sky is not extinguished.

New York. I could live here... To me, this realisation is what makes for a perfect destination. The feeling that you belong somewhere, even when it is on the other side of the world, is why I travel. This shot is from Brooklyn looking back towards Manhattan during one of the best sunsets I've ever seen.

Sometimes I'll post a photo less because I love the photo and more because of the story behind it. I was entirely surprised and enchanted by this place below. This is Trianon Park in the middle of downtown São Paolo, Brazil. It's like a jungle in the middle of the city. This 50,000 sq. meter park was established in 1892 and is home to all sorts of wildlife including almost 30 kinds of birds. It's a wonderful break to visit from the big city surrounding it.
With The a total area of 72.000 sq m, Plaza de la Revolución is one of the largest city square in the world.It’s the place of massive rallies and speeches by Che Guevara and other revolutionary leaders. If you are at all interested in Cuban history, this is a must place to visit in Havana.

Laguna Miscanti in the Atacama Desert
The brown sand, the deep blue water of the salt lake and the steep volcano Cerro Miscanti (5622m) in the background create a stunning view. You can watch animals like Vicunas or flamingos here.
That is gorgeous! And that's also a place I want to visit!

Holy fuck, these photos are all just breathtaking... Where do you find all of these even?
Surrealism is destructive, but it destroys only what it considers to be shackles limiting our vision.” Salvador Dalí . Sometimes what we perceive as real is actually surreal, while what we see as surreal is actually real. A red river runs past white islands of borax salt (sodium borate) in Laguna Colorada. The red and orange colours in the lake are from pigmentation in algae which grows in the borax rich water. The tiny little pink speckles in the back part of the lake are thousands of flamingos. The lake sits high (4278m or 14035ft) in the Bolivian Altiplano in the Andes. Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve. Bolivia.

Poço do Tarzan
This beautiful place is located in a city in Brazil called Paraty. In this natural environment there is a great variety of waterfalls that form beautiful natural pools where you can enjoy a refreshing freshwater bath

The Iguazu Falls, located on the border of Brazil and Argentina are worth visiting. I was on the Argentinian side when I took this shot. There are path in the middle of the tropical forest to walk around and admire the strength and power of these falls.
I am sure they are worth a visit! Stunning place!
Golden sunset in the heart of the Amazon. I took the picture in the Mamirauá Reserve, Brasil. A side cannal of the Solimões River. It looks peaceful, but the river is full of caimans.
The Quilotoa crater lake in my shot is in the Ecuadorian Andes. This breathtaking emerald-green color results from volcanic minerals. Kayaking in the lake must be a cool experience, but I didn’t try as it’s incredibly cold and windy down there. ;)
Today I want to share my photograph taken on "Valdez" beach, located on the Margarita Island - Venezuela. It is known for a pier to which many boats and even school boats arrive. You can also see many fishermen in the area. Tourists are also not the exception, they usually visit the beach in the afternoon, mostly because of the landscape.
