This is Lake Ala Kol in Kyrgyzstan. You'll find this lake high up in the mountains near the city Karakol. A lot of people make the effort to hike up all the way up and see the blueness of this glacier lake. To us it was breathtaking.

@axeman African Wednesday entry:

Moon Connection. Perfect and almost Marsian view passing up the Nile from Luxor to Aswan on a small cruise ship.
The right place and right moment to catch the Moon and the Mosque almost at same line, showing their connection to each other... Stunning a bit reddish colors of sunset adds a lot of drama. Enjoy it!

Photo of the north façade of the White House. This is one of the best known places of the world. It was taken in a cold and snowy day of December. George Washington set the lines according to which the House was built, however John Adams was the first US President to use this building as a residence.

Plaza Vieja in Havana, Cuba

My favourite part of Havana was local Centro Habana with its beautiful houses left falling apart. In Habana Vieja, the houses have been restored, but on the main streets, it is only a tourist destination with no local life now.

Hundreds of millions of years ago ancient oceans laid down the sediments that are the basis of Sedona's red rock formations. Cathedral Rock is the icon of local scenery and can be embraced as one of natures finest works of art. This spectacle occurs only once or twice a year. Sedona Arizona USA.

After spending an afternoon learning about the birth of the first Canadian national park at the Banff hot spring Caves and it's sacred water, we went to chill at the public park just down the road to have a nice walk along the river and foot bridge that go downtown.

Cuban life is flourishing on the streets of Santiago de Cuba, but a parasol is recommended in the heat.

When the evening breaks, people will sing and dance in the streets. The hip swing is unique among the Cubans: dances are already in the early years in the breaks in the schoolyard.

I have also posted the photo on my Marwitt | The WAY of LIFE blog.

The big heads of Quebec. During The festival of Quebec day in Montréal, there was several parade, including the representation of famous personalities from Quebec made with giant head. The whole parade was good fun.

Say hello to my new friend from the Louisiana Bayou. Navigating the calm waters of the bayou in search of alligators is a cool experience in itself. Meeting one that close is even better.

Upper Muley Twist Canyon - this is a part of Capitol Reef in Utah. This is an area of narrow canyons, expanses of slickrock, arches and beautiful vistas. You can get there as a side road of the Burr trail in Utah.
