Hello fellow Steemians!

I am starting the week #66 of my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge and we are back to the continent of Asia.

If you like to participate, place your personal image from your travels in Asia in the comment section below with a short 30 to 50 word description. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total. So far I have given out thousands of dollars in upvotes and hundreds of SBD in rewards.

After today´s Asian photo contest, the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge will be followed as per below rotation and then starting again with Asia on next Sunday.

• Monday: Australia and New Zealand
• Tuseday: Antarctica + the world’s oceans
• Wednesday: Africa
• Thursday: Europe
• Friday: North America
• Saturday: South America

See the winner of the last week´s Asian Sunday @roadtrips with the following entry:

Chess Pavillion. On the famous Mount Huashan you can visit this beautiful place. The way down to the pavillion is a very narrow path which you have to climb with the help of steel chains. So even the way there is an adventure.

We do not associate Hong Kong with rural life, however it has a small rural area which is very interesting. I took this photo of a workshop in a rural area there. You can see that the tricycles are used for transportation and the doors have some interesting “posters”.

Elephant Trekking Phuket, Thailand

I took this shot on the island of Phuket on one of many Elephant Trekking spots. I think that this is really wrong and I personally would not spend any money for things like this. I do hope that it stops one day and these beautiful animals can live free.

Hoshida Park Suspension Bridge in Osaka, Japan

Hoshida Park in the suburbs of Osaka is a fantastic spot for viewing autumn leaves. It is popular with locals, but little known among tourists. Getting there is quite hard, we ended up hitchhiking the last kilometres, but the amazing suspension bridge (free!) and the beautiful fall foliage colours are certainly worth the trip!

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

Ulun Danu Beratan Temple Bedugul – Bali Temple Floating On The Lake. Ulun is a Balinese word means edge while Danu means lake. So the Ulun Danu Beratan temple in Bali means a temple located on the bank of Beratan Lake. Everybody wants to visit this place and that means it’s full of turist. I had a luck and took a picture without turists.

Summer Palace - Beijing

The Summer palace in Beijing has always been my favorite place to chill while I was living in Beijing. The parks are beautiful and its great a spot to get away from the regular crowds in the city.

Riding a train in Sri Lanka brought me back to my childhood, when I travelled to my grandparent's village from Lisboa. Although here its a whole new experience, with the vendors walking barefood selling local stuff and the incredible landscape on the way to Kandy, through a vastitude of tea fields. No wonder it's considered one of the most beautiful train routes in the world. Will probably deserve a post on its own, but for now, here's a photo leaving one of the stations, a column of smoke going up in the air.

It was not easy to get there by our own, but it was so worth it. The highlight of my Chinese trip. The Yungang caves, located near Datong are amazing to see. There is a 14 m Buddha carved into the mountain and more than 50,000 others to see. Those are not the biggest ones to be found there, but the colors and details are amazing.

Visiting Kolkata was one of my best memory from traveling in India. I found it particular, special, unique! Going from a place to another using rickshaw was one of my favourite thing to do. Here is a street scene from this awesome city that's Kolkata.
