Sahara Desert, Merzouga (Morocco). I took this picture on my travel through Morocco on the new years eve 2016/2017. The location was south/east of Morocco in Merzouga, an small village besides the desert on the algerian boarder. I still cant find the right words I could say about the saharan desert, it was just magic and definitely the most peaceful and silent place i have ever been to in my life. If you ever have the chance to go there - do it !

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #45 - winner announcement!

@narchuk Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Hidden Gold of the Caribbean. Only by spending a lot of time underwater do you understand how sea treasures really look. It has nothing to do with man. It is a natural wealth and beauty. Every spark that flashed in the dark blue bears a part of this treasure. Fish are certainly one of them. Every find among the gently pricking branches of corals brings you joy. And if you stop and listen, you can feel the harmony of the sea. Bonaire Island, Caribbean Sea.

Sahara Sunset, Morocco

Golden hour in the Sahara is beautiful: The light of the fading day emphasizes the shapes of the huge sand dunes and paints them in all kinds of yellow, orange and red tones.

Morocco, Sahara Desert
One thing I was never really aware of but realized it when I was there - The desert can be freezing cold! I was there between new year 2016/2017 and we slept in one of the Berber tents with about 3 camel blankets each Person. It still was unforgettable especially watching the sunset and the stars by night.

What a stunning entry once again. Well done!

Thank you very much, Tomas! Great competition, just as always!

Hi Steemians. I thought I would entice you guys with a photo I took over the weekend. We climbed a hill behind my house called Botmaskop, Stellenbosch, South Africa. As we moved up, the clouds moved in and it was like playing above (or in) the clouds.

Your house is surrounded by some amazing setting Jaco. That's great.

Citadel of Qaitbay
From a memorable day in October while touring the ancient city of Alexandria, Egypt. One of my favorite stops was the Citadel of Qaitbay. There were many people out enjoying the beautiful blue Mediterranean sea by this 15th century fortress.

Thank you very much.

My today’s photo is from my Etosha National Park in Namibia and it is from 3 years ago.
This was the most amazing game sight on all my safari trips. There you can see lioness on the photo, but down in the bush she had two little few days cubs… But let’s wait with cubs’ photo for next opportunity.

That's a real Africa:)

Ok, enough desert and dry places, ;) let's see something green with water:
This is one of the biggest Ethiopian Rift Valley lakes - Lake Abaya. I did a boat tour near here and watched hippos, crocodiles and lots of water birds. It's by the amazing Nechisar National Park, where zebras 🦓 and gazelles roam the vast savannahs.

Great to see some greenery:)

Welcome to the top of Africa, just about 6000 m above the level of the sea on this big blue planet. Ice and snow still exist here even though this is at the Equator. This is a personal photo looking into the crater at the summit of Kili. Enjoy the view from the top of the world!

This photo that can also be found on my blog @snowyknight.

Thank you so much for your submission. Have a great day.

Thank you for having such a cool contest!!

Namib-Naukluft Park.
The Sossusvlei in Namibia is more than 300 kilometers long and 140 kilometers wide and consists of seemingly endless sand dunes. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. What a great place to visit.

Thank you for your entry. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas

Bedouin and camels at sunset, Douz, Sahara, Tunisia, North Africa
As Seneca said, "When the sun goes out, you can see the size! And I will add, as well as its beautiful colors!
These are long-distance camel rides, more commonly known as "Camel trekking" in international scale. A camel ride may seem similar to equestrian activities, but when the scenery is a desert displaying one of the most beautiful and poetic environments in the world, one realizes that it is a unique experience to live at least once. in his life.

Calm early morning near the hotel at Hurghada, Egypt. Soft perfect colors of sunrise, calm water surface and some stones at the coast. Wide angle lens to get all in one frame.

Enjoy the peaceful scenery!
