Welcome To Old Town Las Vegas! Nostalgic & So Much Fun. + I Hit The JACKPOT!
A birthday and HS Graduation landed me in Vegas for this weekend. This is how you have fun while your wife is pregnant and all the club action has to be missed. It gave us more time to enjoy the fun aspects we normally put aside!
Getting in from the Gate is always welcoming. This never gets old as you stroll down the escalator.
The Patron billboard is right behind it which I am also a big fan of.
On the road we go where we rented a house for the weekend. Daylight pics do the strip no justice but I was excited and snapped a few anyway.
The MGM
New York New York
Oh yeah, and we already have our poker faces on....
And btw, I won those Ray Bans @ Dave & Buster's the night before so I know my luck is flowingggggggggg!
Treasure Island. The Venetian which I highly recommend! The marble in the lobby alone is breathtaking and the rooms are all fabulous.
The Wynn and we are close to the house by now.
Time to hit the town...
Nothing too unusual yet right? Well, here is my question...Have you ever experienced Old Town Las Vegas?!
It's an amazing place that takes you back to what Vegas started out as with a new age flair that creates an awesome atmosphere. I was with "5 star Strip Only" people who are now booking their next Vegas vacation at the 4 Queens!
I have already been to Old Town plenty of times. Pia, for those first time readers, is a flight attendant so we are everywhere and anywhere often. When she flies into Vegas they always put them up in Old Town and we always make the most of it!
Binions Horshoe Casino and The Golden Nugget are icons to anyone 20 years my senior. What they have done to Old Town to keep up with the times is enclose it so it feels like a shopping mall of casinos. They also have a state of the art sound system, projectors, and zip lines that go down the whole street!
An iconic shot of Binions in the 70's with their "Million Dollar Horseshoe"
Please make plans to stop down here next time. It has all the warmth of small businesses that you will never experience on the strip.
This is a stock photo to show how lively it gets here at night. A must see.
I won't go to Vegas without spending a night down here.
Ok, I promised ziplines didn't I? Well I am never one to disappoint so here you go..
I won't forget Paul. He was working a bar out on the street and just killing it with tips. He was on the Bacardi Flair Bartending Team and now resides in Vegas. Even with a minor slip up at the end, you don't get this good overnight. I tipped him well.
Let's finish off Old Town Vegas with a few more pictures. You might recognize some of these from old movies.
The Cowboy
The Cowgirl
The Golden Goose
Multiple icon neons
A nice burger joint if you are over 350lbs...
And a pleasant surprise plug while we were making our way through
Nice.
Ok we are out of Old Town and making our way up the strip. We land at Circus Circus because we brought our dog with us and he needs play toys. lol... he wasn't disappointed when we got home!
Collectively, we kicked some butt. There was a clear winner though...
A dart right in the center of a bullseye. I know what you are thinking and no there is not someone in the Kenny. We won a stuffed prize THAT big.
Don't believe me? Ask the guy who was mad he won it and had to carry it the rest of the day lol
I missed the photo opp getting that in the car! We almost just left it in the lot.
I'd say we did pretty well though
From here everyone is tired but I refuse to get some sleep until I get into some Craps action.
There is a "Cover All" bet which means you have to roll every number between 2-12 with the 2 dice the game allows before you roll a 7. Just to give everyone an idea of how hard this is, Vegas odds are 151-1. That means for every $1 you bet you win $151. Well guess what?! My wife and I did it back to back! And we did what everyone tells you to do when you win big...You cash out and enjoy the rest of your trip.
....with a Helicopter Ride
And a few photos I snapped while zooming around the strip
All the excitement has worked up an appetite and we wanted a cool spot to eat. Look no further than
Love his TV Show and I trust his judgement on food. For those of you who don't recognize the name it is this guy
A nice small spot in Harrah's with a great menu. We got the Nachos and the Award Winning Mac N Cheese Burger. So Good!
They just dump the nachos on the plate. They are meant to fall all over the table!
One more win after dinner and we called it a successful mini vacation
I bet you are wondering what I am going to be doing with all of those winnings. It should be no surprise.
STEEM. POWER. Coinbase already has my money and I can't wait to convert it!
I'll leave you with this. If you ever want to hear a Storm Trooper playing Spanish Guitar, head on down to Old Downtown Las Vegas. You will be glad you did.
The End!
