Thank you for your comments @byn! The White Mountains are a special place for me. I really missed them after moving to Florida in 1999. Going back last summer was an awesome experience. I plan on going back again this summer.
We traveled for a few years on a bus and spent a lot of time in the Smoky Mountains, but we never really spent time in New Hampshire. Your photos make me want to visit there, though!
I think that New Hampshire is still pretty much an under the radar tourist destination. There's no big mega resorts, but plenty of small intimate B&Bs. Hiking trails are well marked and maintained, but subtly blend into to the environment. There's lots of beauty to see there!
We tend to avoid tourist places like the plague anyway, so it sounds perfect to me! The hiking trails sound heavenly, too!
