登上海拔两千多米高的山顶， "白云生衣底，苍穹跨杖头"，云海全在你的脚下，而不是在遥望中的彼岸。这时的人自然就身在银色世界的佛国里了。

峨眉山到处是云的世界，是白云的故乡，站在舍身岩前，浩瀚无际的白云在岩下翻涌，山峰犹如座座孤岛，只现出青葱的峰巅。云海瞬息万变，时而平铺絮绵，时而波涛漫卷，时而簇拥如山，时而聚结蓬堆，时而分割如窟。随着风势，云层缥缈多变，神奇莫测，如骑龙跨凤，车舆队仗。 因此许多佛寺，都冠上了一个"云"字，卧云庵、白云寺、集云寺、卧云寺，归云寺……峨眉山的云海， 让人不得不叹为观止！
