In Pictures - Budapest Free Tour Adventure
While Bitcoin is doing its thing in anticipation of consensus conference I’ll take you through a tour of Budapest. Lovely city with a real melting pot vibe, it has been a refreshing experience. They have good craft beer too!
Finding any free tour is in my experience the best way to familiarize yourself with a city. We learned about the long history of Budapest and also about contemporary everyday life.
The tour covers famous Budapest attractions, including important historical sights and venues. I liked our guide. Just the right amount of entertainment sprinkled with stories of past wars, victories and defeats. She also helped us with getting around the city.
If you are not pressed with time, it's a great opportunity to socialize with other travelers. The Hungarian nation has been through a lot - Mongol and Ottoman invasions, the time of empires and Millennial celebration.
Our guide answered all our questions about where to find good restaurants, alternative bars, concerts and nightclubs. It's all locals so great insider knowledge.
Free tour visits loads of attractions and historical sights, but it's not dense with details so info about famous events, people, music, and architecture is easy to absorb. And you pay as much as you want at the end. Suitable for every budget!
I even managed to find some BTC ATMs but they seemed expensive.

The old city is full of beauty, history, culture, architecture, and people worth visiting and knowing. It looks damaged and beautiful at the same time. It’s vulnerable and strong with crumbling buildings, yet strong architecture in all parts of the city. It’s a constant yin-and-yang feeling here.
