Perhaps You Need A Little Guatemala -- Part 1

in #travel8 years ago

I spent a few days in Guatemala City on my arrival back. In that time i managed to explore the city and film my first attempt at a thriller... check it out if you haven't yet... i thought it came out pretty good for a first go. https://steemit.com/comedyopenmic/@buttcoins/ittlevdc
While in Guatemala City I stayed above the IMAGINATORIO.... an artist collective in Zone 4. This video is my first day... meeting up with some old friends and wandering through the Art District. Visiting Beer Gardens, a Craft Coffee Bar, a music venue and wandering the streets checking out the Art. I may have gone a bit overboard with my cuts and dissolves in this video...but i was playing and seeing how surreal i could make it. You never know until you go through the Process.

The music is Guatemaya by a friend of mine who goes by the name DR. Nativo.

Great video buddy. If anything the quick fire cuts added to the atmos. With the music it was really cool and gave kind of like a moving impression of the art as a whole. Real nice :-)

thanks raj. i was trying for a feeling...blurring and trying to measure patterns in the edit...meaning...catch the dissolve, render, rotate clip, then catch dissolve again.

Awesome music in the background that was an amazing video loved it

Food looks awesome! I'm scared to visit Guatemala from what I've read! Although I am aware that could just be total propoganda

dont believe the hype. the whole world is dangerous

@buttcoins This is very true. I totally agree with you on that. Walk in the wrong place here and you're likely to get beaten to a pulp

We moved from Canada to Mexico and I'm constantly asked "is it safe?". Your comment above is pretty bang on; it is dangerous everywhere, you just have to use a bit of common sense...something the world seems in rather short supply of.

Looks like a cracking place. I love the art there great talent also a brilliant tune 💯🐒

yeah... it is a sweet section of the city

Now when I see the graffiti on the train box cars here in Texas I'll be able to pick out which ones were done by the Guatemalan artists that hopped a ride on the rails.
Nice job Mr. Butt, very well done.

Yes... this is a very good profiling mechanism.😆
