Bon dia! Right now my wife and I should be in Santa Eulalia, about 30 minutes walk east of Old Town Albufeira, but health issues have kept us home in Canada with snow (and today, due to an uncharacteristic warm spell, rain!). Since 2012 we have wintered 4 times in the Algarve, about 10 weeks each time, so almost qualify as winter residents rather than tourists. I did about 14 posts a while back describing how to visit Portugal, for example how to get around, places to visit, culture, but you have to dig back in my blog to find them. We had never heard of Alentejo before our first visit but became intrigued by all the wine and food we saw in the Algarve that originated there, so during our third winter stay we did a 10 day roadtrip north through Evora to the Spanish border and the Douro, then Porto and Coimbra. You have a wonderful country, so many nice areas like Alentejo, hope we can get back there next winter!
