RE: Private healthcare in Brazil and the pricks they hire
I´m sorry that you have experienced this. Brazil is basically a bureaucratic nightmare for all of us living here and how one is treated in public situations just depends on the person you happen to get. Sometimes with a smile you can get round having the wrong document / photo and other times you get some idiot who decides to make your life difficult and insist on a pointless rule that they probably don´t even understand themselves.
From an outside perspective, there is little or no concept of customer service or you actually being a person. Sadly, also, racism and ignorance about people who are different in any way is rife. Empathy is often very lacking!
On the good side, outside the big cities and away from red-tape, the people are lovely. :)
Good luck on your travels!
You're right, I had bad luck with the doctor I ran into, he just really liked his power position. As said, that surprised me even more considering the great experience I have with all other people from Brazil. I have a 90-days visa and I'm going to stay until the very last day haha
Cool! Brazil is a wonderful country and the best bits are outside the big cities. I strongly recommend that you visit Minas Gerais (the best state in my opinion!), if I haven´t already.
Iv experienced the same here in Scotland, its incredibly frustrating. Just shows, no matter where you go, some things dont change.
