Travel in Glendale, Arizona

in #travel6 years ago

As you all know, I flew into Phoenix, Arizona; however, I was told it would be safer for me to stay in Glendale, Arizona. I rented a guest home from AirBNB. I was happy to find out that this area was really a nice part of town. My AirBNB was about a mile from the Westgate Entertainment Center. It consisted of Tanger Outlets, restaurants, bars, and a movie theater as you can see in the photo below.

We rented a really nice SUV from Alamo car rentals. It was a good looking vehicle, but there was a terrible spill on the back seats that we had to clean up. The vents on the car smelled really bad, so using air conditioning was kind of stinky, but we stomached it until we returned the rental. It really helped us get around on our trip and travel to other places.

Here is a photo of my husband outside of the Tanger Outlets, which is a group of stores that have brand name clothing and goods at discounted prices. These outlet stores are spread out through the United States, and I always take advantage of their deals when I get a chance to shop in their outlet stores.

Since we are from North Carolina, and we are 3 hours ahead of Arizona time, we had trouble adjusting to their time. We woke up extremely early that morning, and we were wide awake, so we actually arrived to this entertainment district before everything opened up. We hung out and relaxed on their patio furniture and waited for the stores to open. As you can see from the photos, the landscaping was beautiful. I played around with taking some photos as we waited for the stores to open.

Another cool thing about the Westgate Entertainment Center is that the University of Phoenix Stadium is close by, which is the home of the NFL team the Arizona Cardinals. Here is a photo of the stadium below.

We went back to the Westgate Entertainment Center later that night to check out the night life. It was on a Wednesday evening, and I must say I was pretty impressed. People were hosting a car show, showing off their really nice vehicles. I took the photo below from the second floor balcony. If you look closely, you can see in the middle, there was a live band. Surrounded by this area were bars and restaurants that stayed open late. I felt like it was a great place to hang out, and unwind.

Got to be an In&Out Burger around there.

They were everywhere! I was scared to try it. When I've tried new fast food restaurants like that, such as Jack in the Box, or Steak and Shake, I get very sick. My body doesn't ingest greasy food well.

It's great post! eager to visit Glendale. ha ha Glendale is quite unfamiliar place to Koreans, so this post will helpful for people who are planning to travel around Arizona. up voted!

Thank you for commenting and upvoting on my post! Glad that you found it helpful.

Is Tanger one of the biggest outlet stores there? It reminds me of one of the malls here that has dominated the country. There are lots of stores here and I am amazed how many people there are to populate theses places. Are we that eager to consume everything? Lol!

When I travel it hypes me up that rest is out of the question haha! When we traveled to Bali the first time, we had a 4-hour delay of our supposed flight. Note that we had to travel 7 hours by bus to get to the airport. When we arrived in Bali, I can feel my fatigue. We planned on resting before going out but after 30 minutes or so we went out. My mind is fired up to roam around. My partner had to suffer through my excitement because he wanted to rest so badly but I had to drag my partner to go tour the place.

After doing some research, I realize that Tanger Outlets might be big to me because I found out the headquarters is actually in Greensboro, North Carolina. I am from North Carolina, so everyone always talks about driving to the Tanger Outlets. I've been to some here in North Carolina, one in Tennessee, one in South Carolina, one In Georgia, and now one in Arizona. It says that there are a total of 35 centers in 24 states. They are nice because they have really good name brand items for great prices. For example, my husband bought a pair of Reebok shoes for $30 USD, which is really cheap for men's name brand shoes here in the US.

Wow, seems like your flight to Bali was long. I'm sure once you were there it was worth it. I know what you mean about how the excitement makes you just want to keep going and going.

Woow, amazing, like your post beautiful

That is exactly the type of thing Hubby and I would do on vacation. I don't always love shopping but its fun to see what different areas offer in their stores. :D

I like to shop, but my husband doesn't, so I try not to make him do it the whole trip. Maybe just one day out of the trip. The reason we were walking around and shopping was to kill time until I got to meet up with my nephew. I will make a post later about that whole experience.

It looks like a lot of fun! I went outlet shopping my last trip home, always fun to get good deals. The nighttime center seemsed really interesting, would be a really nice place to just sit down, have a drink and relax.

Absolutely was, it was a nice evening, and there was a good vibe there. I really enjoyed it and loved being in that area. If I move away from where I live (in middle of nowhere), I would love to be in a town near entertainment like this.

Wow, the place is so beautiful and pretty modern too. That rented car, has a nice outside look ( I love the color) but that is sad if the inside feature is something that you weren't expected from it. Glad your body clock got used to the Arizona time. If I were in there, I can be at the last picture every night just hanging out there. hehe

It was a nice vehicle, just kind of smelly lol. It was easy going to Arizona because I gained 3 hours. Leaving that side of the country and losing 3 hours is the hard part. I'm still not used to the time back home and I've been home 4 days. I think I would spend a lot of time there too if I could.

But if you got to spend a lot of time there you need plenty of money hehe

Probably so lol. It was nice just to walk around though. We did so much walking on our trip that I didn't even gain any weight lol. I usually always gain on trips since we eat out a lot.
