Details For Our Jet Ski Experience in Arizona
Originally we had planned to rent an UTV to drive in the desert; however, once we arrived to Lake Havasu City, Arizona my husband decided he would rather ride a jet ski. He grew up driving ATV's, so he felt like it was something he could do at home if he wanted to. Instead, we went on a quest to find a Jet Ski rental place. Some places said it was out of season, one place said the wind was blowing too hard and it was dangerous, but finally we came across a place that offered jet ski rentals. It was ran by some shirtless guy who looked all of 17 years old... he totally didn't care that the winds were over 30 mph.
Once we got past the no wake zone, and into the open waters, we found that the water was extremely choppy from the surface currents. My husband acted like a need for speed demon and had us bouncing over the waves, and trust me when I say it was a really rough ride. That's why in the video I posted, he said "Sarah thinks I'm going to kill her." The video can be found here:
I bought some waterproof fanny packs from Amazon just in case we did any water adventures. Let me just say, these were a lifesaver! That is where I kept my phone, money, identification card, and my husband's wallet. The bags were really affordable and worked. Here is a link just in case you need a good waterproof bag: https://www.amazon.com/3-Zipper-Durable-Waterproof-Lightweight-Adjustable/dp/B06XXKT64Z/ref=pd_sbs_200_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B06XXKT64Z&pd_rd_r=D4C8ARRCQ01NFVV5KPA6&pd_rd_w=KzEZX&pd_rd_wg=WYPa9&psc=1&refRID=D4C8ARRCQ01NFVV5KPA6
Thank goodness I bought the fanny packs, because right the video, once I put my phone up and sealed the bag, my husband started joking about what if threw me off into the water. Then like a minute later we were both flipped into the water. I held onto my glasses for dear life while I was dunked under the water since I'm useless without them lol. When I came up for air, I called him an @$$hole because he threw me in the water, but he swears it was a wave the knocked us in. I, on the other hand still find it suspicious that we ended up in the water right after he made jokes about throwing me in.
It was absolutely worth it though, just for the view that we saw out there in Lake Havasu. I told my husband it reminded me of photos I've seen of Greece. I feel like the one picture I took doesn't even do the real thing justice.
We had an amazing time! I tried to drive the jet ski, and it was pretty unstable compared to a jet ski I drove in the past. My husband said it was because it was a smaller jet ski, and the waves were pretty rough. I switched back quickly and let my husband take the lead on driving instead. I would definitely suggest jet skiing in Lake Havasu City! If you are interested in seeing older posts from my experience in Arizona, please visit my Steemit page: https://steemit.com/@bosssarah
That looks like something he really enjoys. His photo is better than in the ferris wheel lol! He is not i to heights but likes the deep.jet skiing is something i have not tried yet. It looks cool and fun!
I always bring fanny packs and plastic bags everytime i travel. You never know when you will need them.
Fanny packs really do come in handy lol! He definitely took to jet skiing wide open! He did not act scared at all lol. I think I was the one scared. He was driving that thing like a maniac.
It is payback time I think for that ferris wheel ride haha!
Lol... maybe so. Revenge for all the times I get on his nerves.
I enjoyed your jet ski experience.
Your husband and you are looking more excited, beautiful.
Thank you! We were excited!
Take Care.
May God Bless on your pair.
That was a fun ride sea adventure with your husband. You really meant for each other for you enjoy the same things. Once again the place is great. You just got a dosed of vitamin sea when both of you flipped from the jetski. ;) You gave me an idea of a winning product. Thanks
You are going to sell vitamin sea water? I hope it is successful!
We really do enjoy adventures and travel. I am glad I found someone who likes to travel too and is willing to save money towards travel with me.
The jet ski was a great choice, especially if it is hot. Love the pictures. Looks like you had a great time!
It actually wasn't that hot on that particular day, but it was still nice to get out in the water somehow lol... since we did travel to a lake. Thanks, I'm glad you liked the pictures.
If you go to a lake, spend your time on the lake. Makes sense!
Wow! What an adventure! I have not tried riding on a jetski, but i'm glad you both enjoyed your trip!
You will have to try it one day! It is exhilarating!
Hello! I recently on Steemitt. I followed you, I hope you will follow me, too. Let's develop Steemit together! I'm glad to meet new interesting people
Welcome to Steemit! Thanks for following me! I always go through my followers and follow back. It is nice to meet you.
wow! I would love to jet skii one day. You should look into getting a gopro or something! I feel like jet skiing with one would be awesome. Glad your phone didn't get a nice bath lol, lots of phones now days are becoming water resistant / water proof, I think it's definately worth considering when it's time to get a new phone! I personally broke my last phone by dropping it in the toilet... oops!
My husband wants a gopro so bad. It would have been the perfect time to have one. He has said a few of my trips, that he wished I had a gopro, like when I went snow tubing in the mountains. I think I might buy him one for his Birthday or Christmas.
My mom dropped her phone in the toilet before. That is terrible when that happens. I try to be careful so that doesn't happen to me. It can be easy to do, especially if you keep your phone in your pants pocket.
That looks so fun!!
It was a lot of fun! I am happy that we got to do that together. We've had a lot of firsts on this trip. First time flying together, first time jet skiing. I think that is what makes travel even more special, when you experience new places and things with someone.
