Enjoying life

Later than expected I would like to present you the last part of my Thailand holiday on the beautiful island of Koh Phangan.

If you missed the first two episodes check out the following links first.

Bangkok City Trip
Adventure on the island

This part will, like the second one, mainly contain a lot of pictures since we spent most of the time on the beach.

But where did we stop? We left Bangkok and started our journey to the island.
Like most travelers, we decided to take the night bus (V.I.P. version) which we booked in one of the many travel agencies in Bangkok. One of our bad mistakes we made ... we didn't compare prices and booked the first offer we found. We paid approximately double the price we should 😞.
But yeah, at least we arrived at the island.

The trip was quite heavy - we left Bangkok at 7 p.m., reached the port at 9 a.m. next day and finally arrived at hour hotel at 1 p.m. As you can imagine we were dead afterwards and didn't do a lot on that day. 😵
Our hotel was named Thongtapan Resort - a nice budget bungalow resort in the bay of Thong Nai Pan Noi in the very east of the island.

Changing the room twice

Although, I didn't expect too much of the resort (it was only €250 for 8 days) we had to change the room twice because of some issues.
Our first room was actually pretty nice, but there were a lot of ants in the room and also on the bed, which is really not cool to sleep with. 😜 So we went to the reception and told them that we need a different room. No problem at all.

After the first night in the new room (which was without any animals) we recognized that the A/C was more or less broken.
I can tell you - you won't survive without A/C in the night. So we went a second time to the staff.
First, they tried to fix it but after a while, they gave up and decided to give us another room which was finally really good.

I mean you still have to keep in mind that there was no luxury stuff at all, all we had was an A/C and a water boiler. No TV, a very dull light, and the shower was ... well we had a shower 😆.

Still, we really enjoyed our residence and the staff was really eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible and we got those fresh picked little bananas as a little compensation!

The Resort...

was situated directly at the beach and spread towards jungle up in the hills. The following pictures should give you some nice impressions.

Loneliness at the Beach

The beach was incredible! Since we went there during off-season, the beach was nearly empty. On good days we counted maximum 50 people! The wheater was not the best, to be honest, it rained the first two days and it was very cloudy all the time, but we still reached 30 degrease Celsius and we also got really badly sunburned. 😵
NEVER underestimate the power of sun!

Have to be place on the island

The village itself wasn't that spectacular but I want you to give you one advise if you ever be there.
Visit the Crepe's Corner located in the middle of the little village.
This business is run by an incredibly nice and lovely young women. She works there around 12 hours per day in high season and manages all on her own. It has been the best Crepe's we ever got and we visited her every single day.

If you ever be there go and check her out - the highlight of every single day.

Bad homeward journey

After beautiful 8 days in heaven, we had to travel back to Bangkok and further back at home.
This has been the worst part of the holiday. First, we found out that the bus to Bangkok which we booked (the way too expensive one) doesn't exist. Then we had to figure out how to come back which leads us to buy another tickets.

After a long journey we arrived in Bangkok later than expected (around 6 a.m. instead of 3 a.m.) and so we decided not to book a hotel to wait for our flight which departed at 9 p.m.
When we finally got to the airport, we recognized that we either lost €100 or we got stolen from someone. Whatever happened - the money was gone.

And then finally - after 55 hours we arrived our beloved apartment

This was the final part of my Thailand holiday with my girlfriend in 2017. Despite some setbacks, it was an awesome time there and we will 100% come back one day.
I hope you enjoyed my story. Keep following for my upcoming posts.

Little Teaser --> going to Italy to visit Ferrari, Lamborghini and Pagani 😍
Also, there will be more Crypto again in the near future - don't miss it!

Yeah, they are absolutely stunning. But I have to say that I prefer the west coast

Reading about Thai crepes evokes some memories :D we ate them almost everyday back when we visited Krabi.

Haha, I know what you mean - still dreaming of those :D
