Beer - Conecting people! (Volunteering experience / Diary)steemCreated with Sketch.

When i arrived in Romania, our mentor and project manager told us, the volunteers, that it would be nice if we started our own diary, in order to reflect and look back at the end of the project and see how much we have developed, what have we experienced during the project and stuff like that. So i decided to share one part with you guys. In it, i am talking about the On-Arrival Training that we had 1 month after arriving to Romania. Every volunteer that is participating in an EVS Project, has to go to one On-Arrival Training and one Mid-Term Training (almost at the end of the project). It's honest and it's written exactly as i wrote it back then. I hope you enjoy it!

So... This is it. I’ve started my own diary. I never actually thought i will, but people told me that it’s very helpful. And i guess it is, because when i will look back in time i think i will be surprised in myself. I am starting it now, because i am not sure if i want to start it, but i think it’s necessary to do it.
And here i am, in Craiova – Romania. Around 500 km from home, Skopje - Macedonia. The date is 30.11.2015, 6 more months to go. How do i feel now? I feel awesome. Honestly. Especially after i came back from the On-Arrival Training that was held in Busteni, a small beautiful village up high in the mountains in Hotel Silva, one of the best hotels i have ever been in. And it was free (he he he). I met a lot of people, wonderful people. Smart, funny, energetic, goofy, drunk, helpful, nice... And i honestly miss them :/ but i know that we are going to see each other some other time, in Romania and in the countries where they are from. I have a place to stay whenever i want to visit Spain, Denmark, Portugal etc... That was the best part for me. But ofc, there were the trainings, work shops, meetings, and they were reeaalyy helpful. And i think i will remember everything till the rest of my life. The coordinators were amazing! They put so much effort into us and into the activities that helped us learn many many things about EVS, voluntary services in general, the medical insurance that we have, how to work in a team etc. The training was 1 week, but it felt like 3 days.
The food in my opinion was amazing and we had variety of different types of food that we can chose from. But i still don’t know why everyone was talking about the spaghetti and meat balls haha i think they were great! And, omg, the french fries were so damn tasty! The best french fries i have ever tried. Crispy and golden on the outside, soft on the inside. Why am i talking about food? Because is important for me okay!? I love food and it makes me happy.
We were drinking a lot every night. Beer that is. I never drank so much beer in my life! But i enjoyed it so much! We were laughing, playing games (drinking games ofc), going to bars, going to each others rooms before we went out in the village (to drink more beer), long conversations in front of the hotel or in front of the elevator or in the hallways, for what ever reason... And i will cherish every single moment of this experience!

Funny story. Me and 3 more people (from Greece, Spain and Denmark) went one night to a near by bar, and decited to make a beer pyramid. And we did that with more than 40 beers. That night, we made a deal that on the next training course (the Mid-Term Training) - few months after the On-Arrival Training, we will repeat this night and do the same thing. And we did it! Well, at least we tried!
