Discovering Bali on a Dirt Bike!

in #travel7 years ago

Hello Steemit!

I missed you all, it's been 25 days since I have been continuously riding. But now I'm back home for 20 days before I head out again on a 15 day ride in the US. I hope I can share all my stories of the fantastic time I had on the road in the last few days.

This was the first International trip that I lead and I'm happy that everything went very well and everyone had a great time.
Below is a run through of the 8 day adventure, from the eyes of one of my client on the tour...

Day 1
After a long flight we were all greeted with smiling faces and garlands at the Bali airport. We were transported to our first hotel where we would we staying for the next three days. On the way we were all treated to the sights and sounds of Bali which we gladly soaked in. The hotel was situated right between the rice fields with a wonderful view of the country side. Rest of the day was spent relaxing in the hotel and getting to know each other in the group.

Day 2
Today would be the first day of dirt biking. The paddy fields of Bali would be our terrain. The smiles on all our faces on getting to see our dirt bikes for the first could just not be contained. Suited and booted we set out to conquer the paddy fields of Bali. Dirt biking was something new to all of us and slowly but surely we got used to it. The staff of Balidirtbikes.com were just amazing, helping us back to our feet with a smile each time we fell off the bike. The last part of the ride we witnessed the sun set at a drive in beach, which was a sight to behold. Bali, bikes, beaches and sunset. What a combination!

Day 3
The second day of dirt biking would be through dense rubber forests. The terrain was a little more challenging than the previous day but all of us gave it our best to try and complete the whole course. Some of us even tried a few stunts along with the pro riders and managed to even land a few daring stunts. A barbeque dinner back at the hotel along with a refreshing swim in the hotel pool is all what we needed to relax our aching bodies for another day of adventure.

Day 4
Sadly the last day of dirt biking but by no means the least. Today we were all going to conquer a volcano. Yes a volcano! The terrain was all covered in volcanic black sand, which our bikes were easily gliding through. After half a day of biking we went back to the hotel, packed and shifted to the second hotel. This hotel was situated right in the hustle and bustle of the city overlooking a beach. A complete contrast to the first hotel. Late dinner followed by a walk on the beach.

Day 5
After three days of exhausting but exciting dirt biking we all need a good rest. Some slept most of the day, some got massages, some had a relaxing swim in the hotel pool and other did just nothing. By late evening we were all refreshed and decided to check out the local discos to celebrate our dirt biking adventures, which lasted late into the night.

Day 6
Day six was a mixed bag of activities. Few of us just could not get enough of the dirt biking so decide to sign up for another day with the dirt bikes. Some went out shopping, few others rented out scooters to ride around the city and few of us even got tattoos to remember the wild adventures in Bali. Since it was the last night we were going to spend in Bali what better way than to hit the local discos, a second time, and party all night long. After the party we stayed up late talking about the experiences of the previous few days.

Day 7
Finally the time had come to get back to our normal routines back at home. One last breakfast together at the hotel. We all said our good byes before we boarded our respective flights back home.

A wonderful trip which sure would be etched in all our minds for a very very long time.

Thank you for following me on this ride through Bali, more exciting travel stories coming up!

Ooh, that's pretty hardcore! Glad to see some girly daredevils here :)

I used to downhilling with simple single suspension MTB and kind of killed the fun for myself when I did a trail of death - I was happy once I finally was done.

Thank you @sjennon. Yeah i've gotten to know some good riders on Steemit and they all are very helpful.
You should do more trails :)

I should, however I think I prefer riding BMX!

It looks like you are having lots of fun there in Bali, I recently got my passport so I am planning to do first international trip so maybe Indonesia is cheaper and affordable to start with I guess.
Thanks for sharing your Journey.
Good luck, Best Wishes and Happy Journey!

It is not very cheap.. Its similar to the prices here in India.
