Unexpected Africa - My first Travel Experience in Africa [English - Italian]

DESTINATION: Atakpamé, Togo - West Africa
JOURNEY BY AIRPLANE: Milano (MXP) - Casablanca (CMN) - Lomè (LFW)...in a few days... because of first flight's delay we had to stay 2-3 days in Casablanca, hosted in a beautiful accommodation payed by Royal Air Maroc company

Mi first time in Africa was in 2010, when I was just 18 years old (so, I can't promise to show you a photo of myself because of my past horrible aspect!!...), with other two young girls. I wanted to go there to meet a child who my family adopted long-distance, thanks to a project by "Gruppo Amici del Togo". The group is composed of a few people, roughly 15, who have lived humanitarian experiences in those places. It's a little group, but it is a highly active one and it is based in Soresina (Cremona, Italy) where I was born and I lived during those years.
But...I don't believe it's important to tell exactly why / who / what. Contrariwise, I think it's better share with you the emotions, the feelings about my travel, and generally, about Africa that I lived.
Let's start!

Il mio primo viaggio in Africa lo feci nel 2010, non appena maggiorenne (non vi posso promettere una foto che mi ritragga..ero troppo brutta!!...), con altre due giovani ragazze. Io volevo assolutamente andarci per incontrare da vicino la bambina che la mia famiglia aveva adottato a distanza, grazie a un progetto realizzato dal "Gruppo Amici del Togo". Tale gruppo è composto da poche persone, pressapoco 15, che hanno vissuto esperienze umanitarie in quei posti. E' un gruppo piccolo, ma fortemente attivo ed ha sede a Sorellina (Cremona, Italia), paese dove sono nata e dove vivevo all'epoca del viaggio.
Ma....io non credo sia importante raccontarvi esattamente perché / chi / cosa. Al contrario, credo sia meglio condividere con voi le emozioni, i sentimenti del mio viaggio, e in generale, quelli dell'Africa che ho vissuto.
Cominciamo!

women : in the market, in the fields, in the back seat of motorcycle taxis, on the benches outside their huts, in the boutique, in the churches. Never alone. Always with a child. Women are already at 10 years

AFRICA IS DIFFERENT

Who lives there seems to be there since hundreds of years.
He knows every little nuance, every feature, every secret of any place as if he knew them one by one.
As if he had lived them deeply one by one, as if he was born, lived, and died in each of them. It's incredible!
In Africa there is an indissoluble love between people and nature.
Africa, perhaps, is still one of the few places where nature is accepted and so loved for what it is, respecting the times, durations, the generosity, the pitfalls and follies .
Africa is reverence, continuous gratitude. To Nature, to God, to the rain, to the sun, towards the Guests.

L’Africa è diversa. Chi ci abita sembra stia lì da centinaia di anni.
Conosce ogni piccola sfumatura, ogni caratteristica, ogni segreto di qualsivoglia posto come se li conoscesse uno per uno.
Come se li avesse vissuti profondamente uno per uno, come se in ognuno vi fosse nato, vissuto, morto. E’ incredibile!
In Africa c’è amore indissolubile tra gli uomini e la natura.
L’Africa, forse, è ancora uno dei pochi luoghi in cui si accetta, e dunque si ama, la Natura per ciò che è, rispettandone i tempi, le durate, le generosità, i trabocchetti e le pazzie.
L’Africa è riverenza, ringraziamento continuo. Alla Natura, a Dio, alla Pioggia, al Sole, agli Ospiti.

I hope I have been able to share with you at least a portion of the many, indescribable feelings that that travel gave me. And, if you hear that someone got ill coming back from Africa, believe him. If his illness is like the one that I got (like the majority of travelers that went to Africa) it's the "" and there is no cure! It's that persistent nostalgia and deep feeling that assails you every time you watch the travel photographs or you read again your travel diary.
And... even if with great worry, here is the picture with me (well hidden, thanks God) with some kids in the Lomè capital.

Spero di essere riuscita a trasmettervi almeno una parte delle tante e indescrivibili emozioni che quel viaggio mi ha regalato. E, se sentite qualcuno che tornando dall'Africa si è ammalato, credetegli! Se è come la malattia che ha colpito me (e gran parte dei viaggiatori che hanno attraversato l'Africa), è il "mal d'Africa" e non c'è cura! E' quella sensazione continua di nostalgia e di commozione che ti assale ogni volta che riguardi le foto del viaggio o rileggi il diario di viaggio.
E...anche se con forte preoccupazione, eccovi la foto che mi ritrae (ben nascosta grazie a Dio) in mezzo a un gruppo di ragazzini nella capitale Lomè.
