Die Franzosen sind wie ein kompliziertes Schloss, das sich erst öffnet, wenn man an das Ende jedes Satzes ein "s'il vous plaît" hängt.
The french are like a tricky lock, you may only open, if you finish every sentence with "s'il vous plaît".
Aber wenn man es tut, bekommt man leckeres flötenförmiges Backwerk.
Bien sûr fait à la main.
But if you do, you get a delicious flute shaped pastry.

Nicht nur die Franzosen. Auch ihre Küchlein sind äußerst süß und liebenswert.
Not only the French are very sweet and lovely, their cakes are too.
Sagte ich liebenswert? Begehrenswert!
Did I say lovable?
Desirable!
Aber Korsika hat natürlich mehr zu bieten als nur profanes Naschwerk. Die Macchia! Sie gibt einem das Gefühl inmitten eines Wildkräuterbeets ausgesetzt worden zu sein.
Lavendel, buntes Moos und Thymian soweit das Auge reicht. Und kleine, muntere Hummeln, die unbeirrt ihr fröhlich Tagwerk verrichten.
But Corse offers much more than just profane sweet titbits. The Macchia! It makes you feel as if you have been dropped in the middle of a bed of wild herbs.
Lavender, colorfull moss and thyme as far as the eye can see. And tiny, sprightly bumblebees working their routine unflinchingly.
Und falls man unterwegs ein Bächlein rauschen hört: zuschlagen! Das Quellwasser schmeckt unvergleichlich gut.
And if one encounters a rill on the way: Take the chance! The spring water tastes good beyond compare.
