in #travel7 years ago (edited)

This is the story of our honeymoon in Iceland in the month of December 2016, the is the second part of the blog. If you are interested you can check out the first part : Iceland: A song of Ice and Fire - Part I
We started our journey from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport,Kolkata . Our flight had two hops Helsinki and Oslo with 8-10 hrs layover at each location. We had decided visit both the cities as we were on Schengen visa. First we arrived at Helsinki, we reached there at 2:45 PM. We had taken a day pass and went out to the the city on metro train to helsinki central station. The temperature outside was was -1°C , yet we decided to roam around the city on our foot, it was such a lovely experience to soak up the vibe of this beautiful Finnish capital on a December evening .

We returned to the airport at 9PM, we decided to spend our night at the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport Sleeping Pods. It was surprisingly comfortable night, and we flew off to Oslo at 7:45 AM. We reached Oslo at 12 PM, here too we followed the same approach. Day pass and roaming around the city soaking up its vibes. The temperature outside was -2°C, snowing......what a beautiful experience it was. Word fall short to describe the beauty of the city, hope the picture below does some justice.
