Padova - one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. Travelling impressions
Hi,
If you love traveling, then you can consider Padova, a very nice city that worth a few days of vacation.
There are 3 impressive cities in Italy that you can discover with family and friends: Verona, Padova and Venice, These are real architectural "jewels".
About Venice I have already talked about, so today Padova is the next one, a town located in the Veneto region of northern Italy.
It's about 40 kilometers west of Venice, I went there by train.
The city is a mixture of venetian, roman, medieval and renaissance civilization.
Padova is a quiet city, not so much crowded as Rome, for example. It is a city where it is easy to find the ways, not needing a map. Padova combines spacious, lively public squares with narrow medieval streets surrounded by sights and artwork, elegant shops.
I liked the architecture of buildings with columns so that either it's sunny or rainy you could walk under the columns.
The most famous tourist attraction of the city is St. Anthony's Basilica.
There is also one of the most prestigious universities in Italy, about 800 years old, and the astronomical observer of Galileo Galilei.
Prato della Valle is the second largest in Europe. It is surrounded by a water channel with fishes.
Padova boasts the oldest botanical garden in Europe, Orto Botanico di Padova, founded in 1545. This objective was included by UNESCO in 1997 on the World Heritage list.
Public transport in Padova is provided by buses and trams, very clean and civilized, with air conditioning.
All of Padova's objectives are easy to get from one to another, so they can be visited without using the means of transport.
All photos were taken with my smartphone and they weren't edited.
Hugs,
