Philippines Traditional Music Instrument....

in #traditional8 years ago

Most of Filipino are basically music lovers. I always played the OPM (Original Pilipino Music), even before the era of the popular folk singers Freddie Aguilar and Sampaguita and the famous soloists Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid and Gary Valenciano. The development of music in the Philippines was generally influenced by the Spanish and the American communities who established the art forms that included dance and theater. But the indigenous instrument of the Philippines and the unique sounds play a very important role in the Phillipines Culture also to the tribes or natives in the Philippines in their ceremonies, rituals and celebrations.

Below are the musical instruments used by the tribes/natives in the Philippines.

(Bunkaka or bilbil - a bamboo musical instrument used by the tribes which is struck against the palm of one hand to produce sound.)

(Diwdiw-as or Diwas - a bamboo panpipe.)

(Kalutang - two short rounded wooden sticks played together to produce sound.)

(Gangsa - a flat gong made of bronze used by the Igorots.)

(Baliing - a nose flute of the Apayaos Tribes.)

(Kolintang - a bamboo zither with 6-10 parellel string that run along the body.)

Mindanao

(Gabbang - wooden xylophone of Sulu.)

Mindoro

(Batiwtiw - a bamboo instrument)

(Kudlung - a bamboo zither with parallel strings)

(Gitara - a home-made guitar.)

(Bangsi - an external pipe flute.)

(Badyung - a bamboo trumpet.)

(Cantuy - a nose flute.)

(Tangkop - a bamboo whistle.)

(Buray-dipay - a bean pod rattle.)

(Agung - brass gongs.)

(Subing - a Jew's harp.)

Palawan

(Gimbal - drum)

(Batungtung - bamboo slit drum.)

Great post as these arent your typical instruments its interesting upvoted.

It's great the you're showing this off to the world. Would have been nicer if you gave more details for each and divided it up into different posts. It would've given you the opportunity to earn more, and provide more detailed information for each instruments.
