Tipping A Minnow or Ten - Update

in #tips7 years ago

What am I doing?

Recently, I was approached by  @sykochica she was looking for others to help her spread some Steem around to minnows who are working hard and haven't yet hit their sweet spot.  It is a small tip.  However, just being noticed and appreciated is a big deal.  Shortly after that conversation @virtualgrowth stepped up and offered to match as well.  I also will be matching and spreading out the rewards from my first post about this.  I forgot to hit Decline Payout it.  I would like to tip as many people as I can.

How Am I Selecting?

As I have looked through the accounts I have gained a bit of criteria.  However quite unofficial.  I find I am leaning towards people who have been around for more than a month posting and engaging.   Most of their posts are interesting or engaging and have not received a lot of attention.  I am not at all opposed to powering down, however, I am leaning to those who are powering up, because I feel they are serious about Steem and Steemit.  I always have a power down running, it is for liquidity, but I usually just power it back up.  I doubt my selections will be perfect, but just trying to give some ideas.

Why Am I doing It?  And I would like your help...

If you haven't yet commented on the first post with your ideas for accounts I should look at you can leave a comment here, or on the original post which I will post at the end of this one.  I am not a socialist nor am I into welfare, but I had a long slow minnow grind.  I believe in doing things in my own self interest, and I see this as an opportunity.  I will be supporting tomorrow's dolphins and whales, and supporting the over all value of Steem, which is more important to me than daily post rewards.   I am not an author or a wanna be author, so I just try to use the site as naturally as I can, exactly how I would use any social media site.  If something is on my mind I post about it.  I think one key to our success is having more users and more diversity.

Where people gather an economy follows.  This is true at school lunch tables, trading posts, shipping routes, near Freeways and everywhere else  - dating clear back to cavemen.

Sort:

I recently found two new posters who are quite adventurous. I think I'll follow suit and give them a tip too!
@modernsuperior and @fellowhuman

Awesome and thank you.

I'm not so much interested in a tip, but I would love for you to check out my blog. I tend to be the same way in that I just post what is on my mind... brain dumps so to speak.

Cheers,

Sean

This is a great idea.
I haven't really made enough on here yet to contribute, but I'll get there and when I do I'll gladly throw some Steem towards this!
I do agree with comments above too...a resteem can be much more valuable.
Being able to get your content out to more users allows you the opportunity to make more in the future.

Thank you for the mention and good work. Happy to contribute. Great to job with everyone involved. Let's keep finding those steem seeds and helping to improve user growth, and retention.

thank you! This has been pretty fun.

Thanks for the tip! And thanks to @sinned for nominating me! I will continue to put in some good work...

Upvoted, resteemed.

I get the feeling that if you have to ask if you are a minnow or a dolphin you are probably the former. I have never seen any criteria defining the levels. But would consider myself a minnow. I too use steemit as I would any other social media platform. Feel free to check my blog out. Thanks for helping out the little guys!

@whatsup holy moly that was fast and cool as hell. Thanks man. Much appreciated to you and your compatriots. Steem on!

It's a great initiative @whatsup! It's involvement on this level that gets me interested in Steemit. The lack of saltiness is awesome compared to other social media. Good luck with this contest!

For me, a resteem of my post would do.

Lol, I'm the same way. I just want people to see what I've done. I'll let my content speak for itself but it is very difficult to get seen.

Just post your content and let the magic works. Dont worry about not being seen, be positive and never expect a thing to avoid disappointment.

That's pretty much it. I keep trying to rope people in from facebook too. I just like to share ideas and get feedback.

Done, I try to not overwhelm my followers with Resteems, but I try to do one or so a day.

Thanks for the resteem :)
