How to write a good article ?

Today I am back to give you tips to write a good and qualitative article. As Steemit is a social platform where you have to create content, here is a few advice to write better content.

1. Find a good subject

The content is really important to be inspired and to write a quality article. You have to find a subject you are passionate about or something intriguing. Do some research about it, to give the best information.
The more you know your subject the more you will have the material to write an article. The readers need to have the desire to read about the article’s subject. Care must be taken to write on a trendy subject that will attract a maximum of readers.

2. Plan your ideas

Prepare a list that includes all your ideas. It is the hardest part to write an article, find all your ideas. If you aren’t’ inspired don’t hesitate to take a few days to think about the subject. The information will be more qualitative. After that, I advise you to make a plan and to structure the information. With a plan, you will have a clear image of what you have to write, and you won’t miss any important information. You can do a mind map to help you to structure everything and to have a global view of all your ideas.

3. Focus on important information

Use only relevant information. Do not go around the bush, go straight to the point. It must be simple to understand for the readers; the goal is not to bore them. Avoid details that aren’t important or relevant. It is not a problem if your article is short as long as it is qualitative. The content is more important than the length.

4. Article edition

Your article must be attractive for the readers. For example, put elements in bold or italic to attract the readers eyes. The text must be pleasant to read. The paragraphs are really important to air the article. Structure the information with paragraph to group ideas. You can put titles to each paragraph to illustrate the words. We can also create insets and use the color to bring out certain points.

5. Write your article!

It is time to write! Don’t use incomprehensible vocabulary that no one will understand. Watch out for spelling, ask your mum to correct you if necessary 😉 Then, avoid expressions or phrases that are not clear. Bet on quality rather than quantity, you must not repeat yourself in the ideas. You have to add value to the reader. The text must be used for something.

Don’t forget about the introduction and the conclusion. The reader must know what to expect when reading the intro. This is where the reader will know if it's worth reading everything. To write a catchy introduction, start by writing the body of the text first. Concerning the conclusion, you have to summarize the main message. It must not be redundant.

6. Find a good title!

It is essential to be short, hard-hitting and if possible to challenge the reader. It is necessary to stir the curiosity of the reader. If the title is attractive the reader is going to read the article. It gives the first impressions, it must be hard-hitting.

7. Illustrate with images

To have an attractive article, illustrate it with good images and representative images. Put some colour in the article thanks to images. Illustrate your words with diagrams, graphs, table… If there is only text the reader will be less attracted. Images allow a pause in the reading.

9. Reread

Reread, in order to correct mistakes and check the consistency of the written set. It is important to take a step back in the article.
