tinfoilraps – National Poppy Slay

in #tinfoilraps7 years ago (edited)

Two-trillion missin
put me on a mission,
to find out,
where's osama's hide-out?

But he was just a cutout,
Bought and sold for a price,
Body already laid out on ice,

Took a dirt nap from that Marfan syndrome,
Pentagon all drunk / clap back / on a barfly mission.

Poppy farmers we're liberated on that day.
Gifted with special seed to double their yield.
Was it Monsanto? / Did they say:
Here, put this in your field (and smoke it!)

Whoever it was,
the troops,
yeah they helped out.

Bearing simple supplies,
fertilizer, and rotation tactics.
Helping to Keep that soy-ile / vir-ile / whilst they go ster-ile.
Slangin that DU / in amongst other antics.

Flash forward 2017
body laid out on a slab.
Poor young addict.
She helped to pay for the tab.

Sir, we've enough dead Americans to cover that Pentagon audit.
Thank you Lieutenant. Inform congress, let's get this over with.

Solid entry @thoughts-in-time!

Why the hell are we still in Afghanistan, now the longest war in US history?

The milk of the poppy / control of the drug trade / natural resources / creating an endlesss supply of anti-US & NATO terrorists.

Thanks for stopping by @v4vapid! You make very good points, it's more than just the opium, no doubt. Pay as you go wind-up terrorists, and 1-3 Trillion in natural resources just waiting to be plundered, err um liberated.

Officially liberated

Hi @soubhikmondal, welcome to steemit! Say, I really like that headline banner on your profile, looks very cool!

Real talk, not a shred of conspiracy here.

Thanks for dropping in, and for your feedback @bulleth. I guess part of my mind is still centered on when these things were conspiracy. It's funny though, how rapidly conspiracy theories have been transforming themselves into conspiracy facts as of late. I upvoted your rap too, it flows real well! Although, I do disagree with the final conclusion. If you'd be interested in why eating the rich might be a bad idea, check out my post here. It's a thought experiment about what would happen if America collectively ate Jeff Bezos.

I'm way too hungover to do this, so I'll keep it brief for the moment :)

Hyper-inflation? Come on - FED, BOJ printing trillions and still struggling to hit their targets.

UBI - Not really a fan, but as far as costing it goes we could redirect some of ^^^ that away from the bond and equity markets. Impending job losses from automation are going to require some sort of radical thinking/policy; whether or not UBI is the solution, I'm not sure. Kelton, Mitchell etc argue for a job guarantee.

Free health care? Works just fine in Aus, Canada, UK etc ... I looked up the wages of US doctors the other day because I thought I was doing pretty well pulling 1.5K USD a week on Steem ... Nope, turns out I'd have to pull 3x that to be in the US doctor league. The gap between them and an Amazon worker is jaw dropping. Sure there's a significant gap between K-Mart workers and doctors in Australia too (and rightly so), but I'd warrant the gap in the US is at least double.

You didn't go into education, but bloody hell ... our system has been heading towards yours for some time now (was once free), but for the moment at least, miles cheaper and infinitely more accessible.

Thanks for your reply @bulleth. A quote popped up into my head while reading your comment, it pretty much sums up my experience of America thus far. Hopefully, the future will be less bleak. Yet, I wouldn't be so foolish as to wager on it, as things in this country just tend to get worse over time.

"We now live in a nation where doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the press destroys information, religion destroys morals, and our banks destroy the economy." ― Chris Hedges

That is a great quote indeed!

I think the future will be OK. Amongst all the political and economic BS, it's very easy to forget that life expectancies are improving, less people are dying from violence, and even though inequality continues to rise, being poor is miles more comfortable than it once was ...

Here's a tweet I saw from an Aboriginal elder yesterday re: that

Absolute poverty is what impacts day to day life most. Whether someone is doing better (or even a lot better) than you doesn’t determine whether you eat or have a roof over your head.

I think the latter half of that quote might be a truism, and that the former part is true for many people.
